(3 R D  POV)

It was yet another stressful evening for Shinji. Working so close to the leader of the Uchiha Clan did have its perks and downfalls. Today was just a reminder how bad the tension between the Uchiha Clan and Konoha were getting - or rather, how suspicious Madara was becoming. The Uchihas have had a family secret for generations

There was an old stone inscription beneath the head household that could only be read by someone with the Eternal Mangekyo. Madara was the only person alive to have such a powerful dōjutsu.

Shinji had been mentally recording how often he'd go down there and how many hours he'd spend translating that inscription. He was relieved when Madara gradually eased off his addiction because of his beloved Mikubae. However, the young boy worried that he may continue due to the paranoia weighing on his mind that Tobirama was trying to keep the Uchihas at arms distance.

Shinji didn't need to read the stone to know about the Uchiha curse. When an Uchiha loves something deeply and they suffer a trauma because of it, they awaken the Sharingan. The power of the Sharingan can also change the morals and sanity of the person. Very few have been known to resist its temptation for power.

Shinji prayed that Mikubae could ward him off such a thorny path.

Speaking of-

"Shinji!"

The young Uchiha had answered a persistent knocking on his leader's door, only to be hugged by Mikubae. "L-Lady Mikubae! What're you doing here," he spluttered surprised. The woman smiled cheekily as she released him.

"Sorry. Did I surprise you? I wanted to talk to Madara-chan about something important."

"Well if it's him you're looking for, I'm afraid he's at a clan meeting..."

Mikubae's shoulders sagged. "Eh? What bad timing," she muttered disappointedly. Shinji raised a brow. "Is something wrong? Can I help?" Mikubae shook her head with a sad smile.
