Part 3 Unexpected

Claire POV

The newcomers were called the Elites. The name suited them, they're the most beautiful people I ever laid my eyes on and the way they act, napakalakas ng kanilang dating. They got a strong aura at the same time lagi din silang bukambibig sa buong campus.

"Hey Tricia! Happy Birthday! Saan tayo magcecelebrate nian?"rinig kong sabi ng isa kong kaklase sa isa pa naming kaklase.

Napangiti ako ng mapait. How could I forget? kaarawan ko din pala ngayon.

Pasimple kong tinignan ang mga kaklase ko na masayang nag-uusap. Napabuntong hininga nalang ako, I should be celebrating my birthday with my mom but she's not at home because her work required her to stay until midnight and I didn't have any friends.

I'll be celebrating my birthday on my own. Again.

Maaga ako umuwi ngayon, maybe because umaasa ako na makakasama ko ang mama ko ngayon sa kaarawan ko. As I went inside the house, I hopefully called out for my mom "Mom? Are you home?'' - tawag ko sa nanay ko, nagbabakasakali na nakauwi na nga siya.

Nobody answered and I sighed, guess ganun talaga. Dumiretso ako sa kuwarto.

Binaba ko ang mga gamit ko tabi ng bintana and looked outside the window. I slowly closed my eyes and made a wish.

I wish that something good would happen in my life. Sana magbago ang buhay ko into something better.

Inilibot ko ang aking paningin sa labas ng bintana pero napakunot-noo ako ng may mapansin akong anino pero agad din ito nawala.

Nakibit-balikat nalang ako.

I thought I saw someone watching over our house but then again baka guni-guni ko lang yun, so I just closed the window and took a warm shower.

I just finished reading a whole book when I noticed the time. 10:10pm. Ang bilis ng oras! I reached out for my alarm clock and set it to five am. Humiga na ako sa kama at pinatay ang lampshade sa may nightstand.

I quietly went under my blanket and felt the warmth it gave me.

Happy Birthday to you Claire Cassidy! I mumbled to myself hanggang tuluyan na akong dapuan  ng antok.

I woke up because of these strange noises that I heard; they were coming from downstairs. Tinignan ko ang oras, It's 1 am in the morning.

Anung ingay na mga naririnig ko? Nakauwi na kaya si mama?

Marahas ako napalingon ng makarinig ako ng pagkabasag ng babasaging bagay.

Dali-dali ako umalis sa kama at pumunta sa may pinto.

Kinakabahang pinihit ko ang doorknob, I inhaled deeply as I slowly walked downstairs.

From the corner of our living room, parang may tao akong nakita na nakahandusay sa sahig, It was little bit dark kaya mas lumapit ako para makita kung anu o sino ito.

My heart was pounding hard and hoping na sana mali ang iniisip ko. I saw a broken vase near the body and blood was scattered near it.

Nang tuluyan na ako makalapit.

Nanlaki ang mga mata ko. No!!! Hindi ito maari!

I felt weak as I looked at the person lying on the floor.

Nanlambot ang aking mga tuhod.

She was lying on the ground, and she was still moving.

Umiiyak akong dinaluhan siya "Mom what happened?''

''H-oney, P-atawad a-nak, for ly-ing to yo--u. T-hey're here. P-lease H-oney get out of here'' hirap na sabi ng aking Ina, her breathing was slowly fading.

"What do you mean? Stop talking mom, tatawag ako ng ambulansya" umiiyak kong sabi dito.

Isang iling ang sagot ng aking Ina "No, I-won't make it. G-et out Claire bago ka pa nila m--akita" she hardly uttered these words.

She reached out her hand which I immediately held.

''No mom, I'm taking you to the hospital. Kailangan mo ng tulong Mom! I'm not leaving you!" sabi ko between sobs.

'' F-ind your real parents. I-m so sorry honey! Shh..don't cry. Th-e n-ecklace. I l-o-ve y--ou.'' My Mom was still able to smile at me amidst her tears.

''No, Mom, Please Mom, don't leave me! Mom, please!'' Tears continuously coming out of my eyes.

I couldn't believe what was happening.

"Mom, tatawag ako ng ambulansya! Please Mom, wait for me. Don't go" garagal kong sabi while holding her hand.

But my mom didn't respond anymore.

Her breathing stopped.

It felt like my entire world stopped. She was the only family that I had.

Now I have no one. I cried for hours, ayoko siyang iwan. I stayed beside my mom.

I didn't bother to move until...

I heard a sound na marahas na nagpalingon sa akin.

'Well, well... 'Look, who we have here''... said a guy with an evil smile.
