Charlotte

Today, Simon's mum had invited us over for a barbecue so we were going to Hempstead, Hertfordshire to see his family. We got up extra early so we could get ready. After I had a quick shower, I blow dried and curled my hair, then put my makeup on which was the usual; foundation, concealer, powder, contour and highlight, eye shadow, fake lashes, mascara and a nude lip. I also did my eyebrows. I put on white maternity summer dress, which complemented my five-month bump perfectly with a pair of brown knee-high sandals

Once we packed our bags we were ready to go. As we were only away for a day and a bit, Josh and Vik agreed to look after the dogs. Saying goodbye to the boys and the dogs, we got into Simon's red Range Rover and then set off for the two-hour drive ahead of us. While on the way there, I decided to post a selfie to Instagram.

After I replied to a couple of comments, I decided to have a sleep as I was tired and I wanted to be energized for when I meet Simon's family. I reached into the back to grab my blanket, then cuddled up to it, falling into a deep sleep...

I woke up to my phone buzzing. Noticing my mum was calling, I immediately picked it up. "Hey, mum." I sleepily answered.

"Hun, I need to tell you something but it's better to say it face to face. Where are you?" She asked.

I sat up, getting comfortable. "Simon and I are on our way to his hometown. Why? Can't you tell me now?"

"I could tell you now, but you might be mad," Mum replied. "Do you promise not to hang up?"

"Yes, mum I promise," I replied. What was so important that my mum had to tell me?

"Well, you're not actually my daughter..."

"What do you mean?" I was taken aback.

"I adopted you."

"Why have you just told me? I'm twenty-four and my life has been a lie!" I raised my voice a little, causing Simon to look over briefly.

"You know your biological brother."

"What? What do you mean I know him?" I replied, even more confused.

"When you had your housewarming party, I recognized him."

"Wait, wait. So you know my real family and you didn't bother telling me?" This was way too much to take in. I rested my hand on my bump, trying to calm down and not get too stressed.

"Yes. It's your friend, Callum Airey."
