"It was nice to meet you, Justin," Char's dad hugged me and patted my back.
"You too, sir," I replied.
"Drop the 'sir'. You can call me Brian," he smiled at me, "take care of my little girl."
"Of course. I will," I assured him.
"Bye Justin, have a good flight," Char's mom hugged me tight, "protect her. She has a lot she deals with."
"I know. She's been handling it better. I think she's slowly becoming more confident with who she is," I tried to ease any of her mom's concerns.
"That's great to hear. I think you're good for her. And... you can call me Melissa," she smiled sweetly.
"Thank you. It means a lot that you approve," I looked to Brian too, "that both of you approve."
Char hit the hooter of the car, switching my attention to her in the car at the curb.
"I guess that's my cue," I smiled at her parents.
I jogged down the path way. As I climbed into the driver's side of the car, I waved at Brian and Melissa.
Char rested her hand on my knee, "I'm so glad the visit turned out great."
"Me too," I smiled broadly and pulled away to head to the airport.
