What's up guys! So, as you know, I've been extremely absent this year and it will sadly have to continue that way for a few more months until Uni is over 💔

BUT, I checked Wattpad for the first time in a couple months and noticed that Dear Hazel has indeed reached over 100k Reads! I can't express my gratitude enough, honestly. You are all so amazing and I know that my absence has been really annoying, but I appreciate how you haven't been aggressive or unsupportive, it means a lot!

Now, I just want to say a couple things and I hope you decide to read what I have to say:

I've always loved writing. Since I was younger, I used to write songs and think they were great (I was only 7, don't judge 😂). I used to write poems here and there too but I never got into writing this much until 3 & a half years ago. Now, my songwriting has always been a well loved hobby of mine but I began writing my first novel (and poetry book) when I was 14 - straight after I had discovered Wattpad.

Three and a half years. That might not seem like a long time - and sometimes it feels as though no time has passed - but a lot has happened in my life since I began writing. Great things have happened and even more bad things have. But three and a half years later, I've achieved things I never thought I would achieve.

Last November, TDOH had 76k reads and now - since winning a Watty award - it has a shocking 185k reads 😱 Dear Hazel had around 25k and now it has 104k. I get very emotional when I think about it and even right now, as I write this, I can feel the tears that want to be embraced.

The first novel I ever wrote is a mess. 'Thea' is a rollercoaster of a book but I love it nonetheless. That novel took me a year and a half to complete and you can see/read how my writing progresses and improves as you get further into the book. Don't get me wrong, I love the plot, characters and what I accomplished with it (26k reads is amazing, I'm grateful for every single one) but it needs to be edited like crazy. I just don't have the time and won't for quite a while. My point is, is that without that first step, that first messy novel, I wouldn't be where I am today. I've completed three books, one poetry book and have many others that I'm writing/planning. I almost gave up on Thea more times than I can count but I didn't.

The message here is that I don't want you guys to ever give up on a dream or even a simple task. You may feel like you're a failure who can't do anything right but you can. It's all about sticking to it and improving. The good thing about not being great at something? You can only improve 😊 ask any professional, famous author and they will tell you that no one is born with this "natural" gift at writing, it's about practice and failing so you can do better ❤

I'm still learning and I will be always learning, but that's a good thing. Writing is my escape and my passion. If it is yours too, then don't give up please 💜💛💚

ANYWAY, that leads me onto the contest winners!

If you have no idea what I'm talking about since it's been legit 6 months... then let me explain 😅

6 months ago, I held a one shot contest that many people entered and now, since I'm procrastinating doing uni work, I'm going to announce the winners 😊

2nd Prize Winner is...

_Thalix_: All three of your one shots were absolutely amazing! But my favourite was 'Who Am I Again?' It touched my heart and I love what you did 💜 you're an incredible writer and I only wish you the best! thank you x

AND

The 1st Prize goes to...

exc_ed: 'Bloodied' was freaking awesome! I love that you changed the genre to Vampire and I didn't even catch on until later in the one shot! The detail and language was great, I felt like I was really very. It was chilling, but also intriguing. I absolutely loved it and am totally digging Hazel as a vampire! 💖 thank you x

Alright so can the both of you please send me a word doc of your pieces to my email (starlio123@gmail.com) so that I can post your one shots in here and dedicate it to you! 😊 For now, I advise everyone to go read them because they're amazing!

Thank you so much to those who entered. It was really hard to choose and if you didn't win this time, you might next time 😉💕

Okay, so I'm happy that I've finally gotten the results out of the way 😅 and again, thank you so so so much for 100k Reads!

Now I'm just hoping I can get back into writing soon! Any of you want that too?

Love you all, I'll talk to you all soon! 💕
