I know I've said this many times and honestly, I've promised myself I'd stop but it's so cute when I tease Marissa. The car ride was especially funny but I think I might have gone a bit too far with the hug.
Marissa was asleep through the whole ride and it was pretty adorable having her snuggle into my chest while she slept. I doubt she realized what she was doing but I'm definitely not complaining.
We arrived at the hot springs reserve around 12 in the night. Marissa was still asleep so I didn't wake her. I carried bridal style while everyone else grabbed all the bags as we headed inside.
I honestly love this place. We chose our usual room with the three king-sized beds. Usually, we'd decide on who would be the lucky one out of the five of us who'd get a bed on their own but since Marissa was with us there was no reason for that. It was a large room with a great view from our balcony.
The room was designed for group guests that came together hence the three beds in one room. The robes and other essentials with the stay were all placed on each bed. Everything was set out perfectly. It was too bad that Marissa was asleep to see it.
I placed her on the bed that was closest to the balcony; she'd get a great view when she woke up. For now, it looked like she wouldn't wake up so I guess the only thing we could do was sleep.
I sighed knowing I couldn't have fun tonight, but I'd definitely change that tomorrow.
"Hey no trying anything on this trip, we promised Marissa we'd give her a relaxing time here and we plan to stick with that so no jumping her, okay?" Alice had that playful look in her eyes but I knew she was being serious too.
"You know I wouldn't really jump her." I couldn't help but grin at her; she was a lot like me, playful.
"Come on help me with the last bag."
I followed after her leaving Cindy, Sarah and Rachel giggling together in silence. There wasn't really much in the car, just a small bag.
"You know I'm pretty sure you could handle taking a small bag like that without my help" I raised my brow at her.
"I know I just wanted to check something with you." She gave me a small smile, something I knew she did when she was careful to tread on a topic.
"Yeah, sure go on."
"You're okay that we brought Marissa here right? I mean, I know how feel about her and I just don't want things to be difficult between you guys or anything."
I couldn't help but chuckle lightly.
"Don't worry Alice, I'm fine with this. If I couldn't even handle with Marissa being nude in a hot spring with us then that would mean all I felt was attraction, no feelings. I like how things are and I'm actually okay with the friendship we have." It really was true.
Even though I wanted Marissa to be mine, I first needed to be able to get to know Marissa. How could I even actually say that I liked her if I didn't know what I felt was real. I had to at least be her friend to know what was real.
"Wow." Alice had a genuinely surprised look on her face. I couldn't help but laugh at that.
"Don't worry, I still don't plan on letting anyone else have her but I want to build on this friendship. I might not know if Marissa would ever feel for a girl but I want to know if she could like me for me and for that to happen I need to be a friend and that I can do. It's something my dad taught me. If you really think you love someone, you have to prove it to yourself before you try and prove it to them."
"That definitely sounds like your dad." Alice started laughing.
"No kidding."
"Come on; let's go get some shut-eye. We're going to need it for tomorrow."
We both headed back and got ourselves ready to sleep. The sleeping arrangement was easy, I'd sleep with Marissa since I was so used to it now and Cindy would sleep with Sarah so that left Alice with Rachel.
Everyone seemed to sleep peacefully with nothing really happening in the night.
