Warning: sad chapter.

It was time to go home, We got up from the chair and headed for the door.

Eddie looked sympathetic today, he said goodbye to every single person, Every. Single. Person.

I arrived at the school hall's door and he ran to me.

"Richie!" He said.

"Hey Eds."

He took a deep breath, it looked like he wanted to cry.

"R-Richie... I told you, don't call me like that..." said Eddie with a hoarse voice.

He hugged me tightly and he gently and quickly kissed my cheek. I frowned as he did it.

"Hey Richie... Good summer to you!" He said.

"But it's..." I said, trying to correct him, but he already got out "... winter."

Now this is getting real strange. Eddie is not like that, we always walk home together. He didn't even wait for me.

He was hiding something... I know it. However, the point it... He never hid anything from me.

I arrived home and ran to my bedroom, as soon as I sat down on my bed, I picked my phone.

Richie: Eddie...
Richie: Did something happen?
Richie: Please tell me... I'm worried...

Eddie: Please Richie, leave me alone...

Richie: I won't if you don't tell me what's happening... I'm worried.

Eddie: Just stop with this!

And he blocked me...

He blocked me?

Okay, this is weird.

I ran downstairs and headed to Eddie's house. Running.

Something was wrong

Something was very wrong.

I arrived at his home and knocked repeatedly at the door.

"Hey... Calm down!" Mrs. Kaspbrack said as she opened the door.

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Kaspbrack. Is Eddie here?"

"Yes... He's in his bedroom."

"Okay, thanks... Excuse me." I said, getting in the house.

"Hey!"

"Sorry!" I said, running to Eddie's bedroom.

I remember where it was... Upstairs, second door.

How couldn't I recognize? There was a drawing sign "Please, knock.  By Eddie."

I knocked and said "Hey Eddie..."

"Please Richie... Leave me alone." He said, between sobs and coughing.

I looked at a table near the doors and I saw his inhaler.

Oh shit...

"E-eddie, your inhaler is here!"

"I know it!"

I picked the inhaler and I tried to open the door. It was locked.

"Eddie, please! Open it!"

"No!"

"Just talk to me, Eddie, please..." I said, with tears in my eyes.

"I won't... I don't wanna see you..."

"Why?"

"I..."

"Eddie?"

"..."

"Eddie!"

I slammed the door and there was him, laying down on the floor, looking pale and skinny.

"Oh God... No... No..." I said, throwing myself into knees.

"Richie..." He mumbled... With a hoarse voice.

"Y-yeah..."

"Thank... you..." He said, giving a weak smile and grabbing the inhaler.

He slowly pulled the trigger and closed his eyes.

It didn't work.

"Eddie?" I said.

"Eddie!" I said, shaking him...

I checked his pulse, did CPR...

Nothing worked.

I looked at his hand, there was a paper.

I grabbed the paper and opened it.

"I love you."

I couldn't believe it...

He died because of me...

He was afraid of telling me he loved me because it could ruin our friendship...

I looked at him and wrote, crying.

"Me too... Eddie."
