I approached her

After my game

Because while I was playing

I found someone

That I needed to impress.

She was waiting

In the parking lot

For a ride

So I saw my chance

And I took it.

"Waiting for someone?"

She twisted around

And flushed slightly

At the sight of my face.

"Yeah

My friend should be

Here any minute."

I waited behind her

Even though she thought

I had left

And we both stood there

As seconds dissolved

Into minutes.

"I don't think she's coming."

She jumped at my comment

Which had broken the silence.

"He. It's a he."

My heart sunk

At the mention of a male.

"Well he must be

A pretty shitty friend

If he kept a beautiful girl

Like yourself

Waiting in the cold."

She shrugged and

I thought she would

Tell me off

But instead

She burst into tears.

"This isn't the first time

He's forgotten about me.

He left me

And I swore to myself

That I would never leave

Anyone

Like he did to me."
