"Hi Lottie."
The cold wind ruffled my hair
And turned my cheeks
A pale shade of pink.
She didn't reply.
"It's been awhile
But I've been busy
And I'm sorry."
She didn't reply.
"I brought you a flower again."
She didn't reply.
"They're white roses
I know they're your favorite."
She didn't reply.
"You wouldn't believe
What happened yesterday.
My parents said that
I'll be moving away soon."
She didn't reply.
"I'll miss you so much."
She didn't reply.
"Hey, I just wanted to remind you
That I've been coming here
Every day
For the past ten months.
Don't I deserve anything?
A sign?"
She didn't reply.
I sighed and felt tears
Prickling in the corners of my eyes
Like raindrops running down a windowpane
Just waiting to drop and die.
I let out a shuddery breath
And placed the white rose
Among the others that I had left
From every other day.
I always brought white roses.
"Well, Lottie.
It's been tough without you
And I still love you
I always will.
Your fuse is fireside,
And the empty hotel suite inside my heart
Will always have room for you."
