We played Fireside
At her funeral.
It was her favorite song
And the last song I heard
Before she died.
It played quietly in the background
As her casket was lifted
And placed into the Earth.
What a silly thing to do;
Bury someone when they die.
As if trying to get rid of all the memories
By burying them under
Layers of dirt and decomposed flowers.
That's where my Lottie was now
Among the dead flowers
And living her life like she was already dead.
I saw Michael at the funeral too
And I debated on whether or not
I should punch him
For murdering her.
Murdering my Lottie.
He was nothng but a murderer
For putting her
In a casket
For making
Her heart stop beating
For causing her
To leave me
When she promised
That she wouldn't.
-
cries violently
it's almost over sighs
