"Where else might we find adventure?"

Rose wondered out loud

Not paying much attention

To where we were headed

Simply putting one foot

In front of the other

And seeing where it took her.

"Well it's getting late

So shouldn't I be getting home?

"No, stay.

Adventure never sleeps."

She took my hand

And dragged me along beside her.

"Now where are we going?"

I asked curiously

Half drained and sleep deprived

And half excited and ecstatic.

"We are going to the bus station."

"Why?"

"You ask too many questions."

I kept my mouth shut

Not wanting to annoy her

But the slight smirk on her lips

Made me gasp in relief.

"You're cute, Clifford."

"I know."

She laughed angelically

Like silver bells in my ears.

We reached the nearest train station

Where the large analog clock

Read 12:43 pm

And the benches were deserted

And the tracks silent.

"We're taking the bus"

Rose announced

Punching in a few numbers

On the machine

And sliding money into the slot.

"To where?"

She sent me another smile.

"To wherever we want to get off."
