Milo couldn't stop looking at Hades, making it very clear in his mind that he was in the presence of the God of the Underworld. The events of the day had unfolded quickly and Milo's mind had yet to process everything that the Gods seemed to be discussing in front of him. After all, the information was beyond overwhelming with just having the new god and goddess being there to deliver it. So, while Milo didn't understand the full abilities that Elspeth had, he was now aware that she and her family were under the protection of Hades, which meant Silas was as well. It definitely explained why neither one of them ever appeared on the Marauders Map. But if Sirius was actually Elspeth's soulmate as Hades claimed, why was the man not granted anything? Perhaps even some sort of protection?

Elspeth appeared to be quite fragile in that moment as Milo glanced over in the direction of his godmother. She held Sirius against her and her eyes seemed watery as she was doing her best to hold back any tears. As soon as she saw Milo watching her, she offered a smile but even that cracked before she turned away. To have her soulmate in her arms again, but not to have him as a free man was probably killing her internally. It didn't make sense in Milo's head, he and Cedric hadn't been together as long as Elspeth and Sirius, but Cedric was brought under Artemis' protection as soon as she discovered that they were soulmates. The same questions seemed to run through the mind of the Potter's goddess as well.

"If they are soulmates, why is he not under your protection? They share a child together as well? Is he not under your protection either?" Artemis questioned looking directly at Hades. Hades seemed to be offended that he was the centre of her wrath when he didn't actually do anything wrong, except pin down the Ceryneian Hind. But in his defence, it had gone after his dementors.

"Our contract is bound by marital status to members outside the family," Persephone explained, " and their child was born out of wedlock as well. Elspeth was made aware of these rules when she was sixteen years old. That is when the abilities of the Hayes family were passed down to her. However, judging by your tone, I understand that you hold issues with this arrangement."

"I have offered my protection to Milo Potter's soulmate, Cedric Diggory."

Every time someone mentioned the fact that Cedric was his soulmate, Milo couldn't help but blush. He saw Elspeth turn back to him, she seemed surprised by the announcement, but she couldn't help but smile then.

"As long as he abides by my rules to secrecy, I do not see why there is any point in keeping it from him," Artemis explained. "A soulmates bound is stronger than anything we have ever come to witness or did you two forget?"

"We actually were aware that Elspeth's soulmate had been Sirius at the time when they were young and before he was sent off to Azkaban. We only discovered the strength behind the connection as we watched the deterioration of Elspeth. The effects of finding a soulmate and then losing one, we were surprised that it did not kill her, but it came quite close. The only thing that kept her will to live after Sirius was gone, was her son, Silas."
