Fate

"Bro, that's Kiana don't you find her attractive?" Chen keeps on blabbing about her crush but I don't mind, normal na samin ang ganito.

Sa gantong edad kami nagsimulang tumingin sa iba't ibang babae some were same as our age, pero madalas ay yung mas mature sa'min. But lately, I find other girls less attractive. There is this girl that opens something in my heart that even I can't tell.

She's Chen's cousin. Noong una akala ko gusto ko lang siyang asarin, she's fun to be with. Nagiisa siyang babae sa kanilang magpipinsan kaya palaban siya. I find her as my opponent. I hate girls who play with boys, noong una akala ko ayoko lang sa kanya. Noong una akala ko gusto ko lang siyang tumigil sa pang gugulo pag naglalaro kami.  It took me three years to realized what my feelings  towards her is. I want to pest her not because I want to pushed her away, I'm pesting her because that's the only way I know to gain her attention.

It stayed like that for three years until I realized, I like her. I don't know if this is what they call puppy love but I know, in my heart, it's more than that.

"A-Azer.." It was Pam. Bumaba ang tingin ko sa inaabot niyang papel. Nakayuko ito at tila nahihiya.

Sandali ko itong tinignan at tinalikuran na pero nagulat ako ng may biglang magbato sa'kin ng libro.

"Ang yabang mo! Hindi ka gwapo para tangihan ang kaibigan ko." That's it. Napansin nanaman niya ako,alam ko baliw lang ang matutuwa na galit sayo ang taong gusto mo, pero eto ako, masaya.

Sinalubong ko ito ng may malaking ngisi. I like it when I'm gaining her attention. Angry or pissed, it's still her attention.

It goes like that until one day, I saw her crying in the park. Her house is just a walk away ours'.

"What happened?" I saw how her mood changed from sad to pissed,

Hanggang dito nalang ba talaga kami?  I don't want to be her opponent, I want to be her knight, her man. Will it happen?

"Wala ito, bakit ka nandito?" Napaatras ito ng lumapit ako. Her sudden move makes my heart ache a bit. Pero hindi ako nagpatinag at binilisan ang pag lapit dito.

"I came here as a friend, 'wag kang tumakbo." Nakita kong nagulat siya sa sinabi ko pero agad itong nag-iwas ng tingin.

"I know our start wasn't that good, but I can be your friend," Friend, is that really what I want from her?

Nakita ko ang paglaki ng mata niya sa sinabi ko, I came closer to wipe her tears away. Halos tumalon ang puso ko ng makitang hindi siya umiwas. She just looked at me with disbelief.

"K-Kung pagti-tripan mo ako ay 'wag ngayon, gusto kong mapag isa." Then she looked away. No, she needs me, ngayon pa ba ako aatras?

"Have you heard of the saying? It's better to tell your problems to your enemy, nakakaluwag ng bibdib."

"Isn't that strangers not enemy?"

"Ah gano'n ba?" Napakamot ako sa ulo ko, It was a joke, though.

I was caught off guard when she laugh. Ngayon ko lang ito nakita na tumawa ng kasama ako. How I wished for this day to come. That was it, I love this girl. I want to protect her, I want to be her guide in her darkest day. I want to be there too, in her happiest moment. Hindi ako kontento sa mapapansin niya lang ako, I want more.

"Mom and dad were fighting, I don't want to see it, pwedeng dito muna ako?" Isang araw ay nagulat nalang ako na lumapit siya sa'kin. She was outside our house, dala ang aso niya.
