Kakashi's Summon

Chapter 15: Sasuke Part 2

Recap: "Please stop this. Stop fighting! Stop it!" Sakura yells running. Rin blinked for a moment before becoming serious. Seeing this, Rin ran after her.

Everything seemed to happen in slow motion. Sakura tried to jump in between them, but Rin knowing she would get injured or worse pushed the girl aside. To the right and to the left of her two powerful jutsus were aimed at her. Taking a ready stance to push both arms away into the water towers she took a deep breath.

Grabbing both arms Kakashi aimed the two boys into the water towers. Rin looked at the both boys and her summoner. Kakashi placed a hand on Rin's head and gave her a little pat.

"What do you two think you're doing here? That was a little intense for just a sparing match. What's wrong with you two?" He questioned giving the boys an exhausted look.

Sasuke pulled his hand out of the tower and looked at Naruto, seeing his water spill was bigger than his. "What were you thinking Sasuke, were you really going to kill him?" Sasuke's smirk quickly disappeared. "You really got watch this sense of superiority. That size of the Chidori, is not something you aim at a comrade from the Leaf Village." Kakashi lectured.

"When are you finally going to grow up Sasuke." The boy glared hard at Kakashi. Rin looked over.

"Hmph." He 'said' dramatically and flipped over the fence. Rin looked at Kakashi.

"I'll go after him, make sure he doesn't do anything stupid." With that she jumps over the fence.

Catching up to the boy in the tree, she sat on the branch in front of him. "Sasuke, look at me." The boy looked up, a cold look in his eyes. Taking his hand without permission she played with it. Something she did to Natsu to calm him down. Tracing the lines over and over.

Rin pointed to one line, "Cana, a friend of mine, told me that this is the line that tells the future." She points to another line, "the present," and another, "the past." Looking over she goes to one his fingers. "This tells me how many kids your gonna have." With a smile she folds his hand into an awkward fist, now knowing the boy is relaxed.

"Aren't you going to tell me?" Sasuke asked with a small smirk. Rin shook her head.

Waking up to a loud banging in Kakashi's apartment was not how Rin wanted to wake up. So opening up the door in her dog onesie on she wasn't shocked to see Shikamaru, Naruto, Kiba, Choji and Neji.

Sighing she closed the door. "Give me a minute."

"Alright! Come on! Let's get going! Everybody follow me!" Naruto yelled. Only to revive silence.

"Uhm hey uh Naruto, Im kinda supposed to be the platoon leader here. I know it's a drag but-" Shikamaru said lazily.

"Ugh, you really think your the best person to direct this operation? You don't seem very reliable to me." Naruto looked at Shikamaru over his shoulder, a duck like look on his face.

"Can't we just get this over and done with." Rin yawns her strap falling off her shoulder due to tiredness.

Shikamaru stood up, "Well for starters this is a rescue operation, we'll be in the position of pursuit. Which means the enemy already has an important advantage over us. That said, Im arranging us in a deployment formation that can respond to any assault by the enemy. If any of you don't follow my exact orders," Shikamaru narrowed his eyes at all of them. "We're all gonna die."

Kiba gasped at the new information. "Okay we'll go with a single file strike formation. As we all know the most important position is the spear head. So that'll gonna be...Kiba! Your up front." Kiba gasped again, "with all the walking you and Akamaru go on, you're the most familiar with the Land of Fire's terrain. And with that sensitive nose of yours, you'll be able to track Sasuke's scent. While sniffing out any booby traps the enemy may have set. More over since we'll have two sets of eyes upfront. More over since we have two sets of eyes up front, you and Akamaru will be more effective protecting our single file line from an assault. Second in line will be yours truly, the platoon leader. In that position,"

Shikamaru holds up his fingers. "I'll be able to direct everyone behind me using silent hand signals. And because I'm so close to Kiba, I'll be in position to react to any situation. In the middle, the number three position. Is Naruto. The middle of he line is the perfect position for you, because you are the most capable you can execute quick moves. Whither in front of you or behind you. You're the corner stone, and you have the shadow clone jutsu. Fourth in line is Choji. Choji you might not have any speed, but your striking power is the greatest of the platoon members. Kiba, myself and Naruto will launch a surprise attack, then you'll swoop in and finish them off. Your the second wave of our assault."

"Next is Rin. You'll be our trump card, with those mysterious powers you have, the enemy won't know what's coming. Finally on the end, will be you Neji. You're position is most difficult. Rear look out, I want you to use your byakugan to constantly scan ahead for weakness in our ranks. Ugh," Shikamaru grits as begins to kneel onto the ground. He pulls out a scroll. "Take a look at this." Taking his pencil he starts to sketch. "This diagram shows exactly what part of the  perimeter you're responsible for."

Taking a pencil Shikamaru points to his little chibi drawing. "Kiba watches the front. I'm responsible for a wider forward view. Naruto gots the left. Choji the right. Rin above and below, and Neji using your byakugan you cover the entire area to the rear." Alright now I think I need to familiarize myself with all the arms and weaponry. I'll need to check out all the ninja tools you plan on carrying into battle. That way I know what w have. Are there any questions?"

Shikamaru asks to the group in front of them. Rin looked up the sky seeing the clouds get thicker and thicker. A storm was coming.

"Since no one has anything to add,  I save the most important thing for last. For as long as I've known him. Sasuke and I haven't been exactly close buddies. In fact I don't really like him at all." A collective choking noise was made. "All the same, Sasuke is a ninja belonging to the Hidden Leaf Village, he's a comrade. I'll put my life on the line to help him. That's the way of our village. I know I usually seem like a pretty lazy guy. But not today. Because now I'm responsible for your lives too."

"Wow," Kiba says, "I've never think I'd see Shikamaru acting like a chunin. Very Impressive." A smirk daunting his face.

"Okay," Neji's monotone voice speaks up, "as soon as we check our gear we'll go. Show me your weapons." With that the guys bring out their ninja tools.

"Alright," Shikamaru speaks, "let's move out."

"Wait!"
