The stomps of a guard shifted the groups attention from Madeline's comment. "That's good then, so it seems that our information aligns with historical fact." Rin stumbled back in surprise. "I apologize, I took the liberty of eavesdropping."
How'd he get past her. She went through Kakashi's obligatory, pointless ninja training! "Have you heard of the Demons of the Book of Zeref?" Rin froze. Of course she heard of that books that contained the demons. How could she not. "Acnologia is similar to them, for it was Zeref himself who turned that dragon slayer into that creature of death."
"Really?" Happy pipped up. Rin felt a tug on her hand and turned her head. Madeline clutching onto it trying to send her a silent message.
Something feels wrong.
Rin could agree. This mans aura, his energy, magic felt off, tainted. The girl turned to the others as the man spoke confidently about the dark wizard. Carla too, in realization, fell back as her eyes widened in fear.
"Carla!" She yelled catching the cat in front of her.
"I am colonel Arcadios, leader of the Sacred Cherry Blossom Knights. The Crocus Garrison Force of the Royal Fiore Army." The man spoke his voice was deep and croaky. Beside him the white haired girl from the games a few days ago spoke.
"And I am Yukino Agria, acting Sergent in the Cherry Blossom Knights." She was just as emotionless as she was a few days ago.
"So what business the military have down here anyway?" Grey asked. Rin rolled her eyes. Technically the colosseum is owned by the kingdom's government. They're under government grounds. Hell, they should be arrested for trespassing.
"You joined the government!" Natsu grinned happy for the woman. Rin wrinkled her nose. Great, politics. This wasn't like the Leaf Village where politics were hidden from view and where nin did all the dirty work. She shivered thinking of a pair of tired sharingan eyes.
Here politics were out in the open, everyone knew what the king was going to do. Safe to say for a few secret projects. Needless to say, Rin didn't enjoy the idea of ruling over a piece of land. "Allow me to clarify, for the past several years I've been working on a highly classified project. But it's success requires the power a celestial wizard can provide. Luckily Sergent Yukino is able to lend us assistance in this this undertaking."
Rin wanted to die. She wasn't supposed to know this information. Did anyone here not know how these things worked. You're supposed to be inducted into the military to know this, not be told on a passing interest! Wait a minute, Rin backtracked. Was she going to be inducted into another form of military, because if she was she swore-
"Excuse me?" Wendy squeaked, "So you need specifically that type of magic power? To do what though?"
Natsu stepped forward, his fist balled up ready to fight. He was loud and a little too nosey. Excuse that, they all were too nosey.
"The one and only Natsu Dragneel." The man smirked happily. "It's an honor to make your acquaintance. I applaud your recent victory in battle."
Natsu pushed his body forward. "I said skip the formal crap and tell me what you're doing. While you're at it, tell me why you were trying to get your hands on a celestial wizard. And when I ask someone a question, I expect an answer right away." Rin reached out to pull her brother back. This was too much information, they were civilians under law they're not supposed to know.
"Natsu!" Rin hissed, yanking harder and pulling him back towards her. She pushed his head down quickly, hers following along. "I'm sorry! He was pushed off a tree when he was a little kid and now he doesn't know when to shut up, and-"
