April

Tomorrow my salon opens and tonight we're about to party hard. It's been a long two weeks, both me and Chris need this. All the hell that I caught from everybody for the shop being closed. I'm glad it's all over.

I had just got done getting ready and now I was sitting waiting for my car to get here. Driving was not on the list tonight because I planned on getting too turnt!

I loved my first shop but this one is really my baby because I was able to purchase it on my own. I worked my ass off to get the shop of my dreams. Me and Chris did. That's why it's only right we celebrate!

My phone buzzed on my table. I picked it up and it was a text from Keith.
Keith😌 - Hey beautiful, don't hate me but I won't be able to make it tonight. Got booked by one of your favorite rappers tonight. Don't be mad, I'll make it up to you I promise😘 - 6:47pm

Taking a deep breath, I placed my phone back where it was. I really wanted him to be there. Things have been just so amazing with us lately and the crazy thing is all we do is chill. We're really building our friendship and that's just so dope to me. But the more I'm around him the more I miss our relationship, I'm not trying to rush things though.

Finally my car pulled up. I grabbed my purse and phone and headed out.

For some reason I was nervous. What if something goes wrong tonight? Something always goes wrong. I just want to celebrate another big accomplishment in my life. That's it.

When I finally got to my shop, a huge smile peeled across my face. The place was packed. My side and Chris's. All the bullshit that I was stressing about went away. Climbing out the car I headed inside and went to find Chris.

"Big brotheeeeer!" I jumped on his back.

"Wassup baby sis! I knew yo ass would be late."

"I'm sorry, I couldn't find nothing to wear. How does it feel to own your own shop." I asked climbing down off of his back.

"Good man. I've been saving forever for this and now it's finally happening. I wanna thank you though. When you saw me stressing working that terrible 9 to 5, you told me to go to barber school. You sat down and helped me come with a business plan, you helped me study and you pushed me until I became one of the best in the city. You just don't know how much I appreciate you April. I couldn't have asked for a better little sister."

"Don't make me cry Chris, I worked hard on this makeup."

He laughed. "Don't cry, but I got something for you." He went and grabbed a gift bag out of one of the chairs and brought it to me.

I took it out his hand and pulled out a Rolex box. "You didn't have to buy me anything. I'm always going to push you to do your best."

"Alright so ima take my gift back."
