It was already New Years Eve, my Eomma bought me a dress for Jungkook's house since they were hosting a New Year's party.

We were all getting ready and my parents made sure we looked our best. My Eomma was helping Sejun while I put on a beautiful tight dress that my Eomma bought me a couple days back.

I curled my hair and put on some makeup then put on high heels. Once I was ready, I was the last one to finish dressing up.

We went to the car, my parents told us about good behaviour before we arrived to Jungkook's house. It was still early yet a lot of people were here.

Once we doorbelled, we were greeted by Jungkook's parents. Sejun followed me up the stairs since he was so excited to see his Hyungs.

Somebody stopped me from going to Jungkook's room while Sejun quickly entered his door.

"Hey gorgeous, I haven't seen you around here. You're new?" I heard the sound of a guy, I furrowed my eyebrows to see a boy that looked almost like Jungkook. But something was off, he must have been a family member of his.

"Yes, and I have to get going." I shook my head, I continued to make my way to Jungkook but the guy stopped me before I could even enter his room.

"I'd just like to get your name, that's all." He chuckled, he gripped my wrist tightly but I pushed him away from me.

"Leave her alone." I heard Jungkook speak from his doorframe. "That's my girlfriend you're talking to."

"Ah, you finally got a girl after Minji?" The guy chuckled, "I gotta say Kookie, you upgraded."

"Just leave her alone, got it?" Jungkook pulled my waist tightly toward him. "She's not going to be any one of the girls that you play."

"Alright, alright. I'm just trying to have some fun. No need to be so protective." The guy shook his head, he walked off and Jungkook closed his door before dragging me inside.

"Who's that guy? Is he Jungkook's twin?" Sejun tilted his head as he was sitting on Yoongi's lap.

"Luckily, no. He's my cousin." Jungkook sighed. "He's a jerk, just forget about him."

Sejun shrugged and continued to play with Yoongi with Hoseok beside him. I sat down beside Jungkook while he pulled me into a hug.

"You're so pretty." He smiled into my shoulder. I thanked him, I couldn't help but feel flustered.

"You look good yourself." I laughed while he grinned with confidence.

"Why thank you, Ara. I'm glad you noticed, this blazer is new." Jin smiled while looking down at his outfit. "But you should really stand your limits, you have a boyfriend. I know it's hard having a boyfriend but having a best friend that's even more handsome. I can't believe the situation you're in." He sighed looking down, we all knew he was joking so we all laughed.

"Ara, you should sing in the karaoke. You're a really good singer you know?" Taehyung smiled. I shook my head.

"If you pay me the right amount of money I will." I laughed, he took it seriously and held out some money out of his pocket. My laughing died down seeing him actually offer me money.

"And I'll let you have my dessert." Taehyung smirked, everybody expected me to deny it but they were wrong. Who would give up free food? An idiot would. That's not me. Eomma didn't raise a dummy.

"Deal." I smiled, Taehyung would give me the money after singing one song. Just in time, they all called us down for Karaoke.

We cheered as many people sang various songs. Taehyung pushed me to the front, I grew nervous. But it was for the dessert. It would be worth it.

I just have to close my eyes and pretend to be alone, that's all. I sat down on the small chair and searched Dear Name by IU. She was my all time favourite artist, I love all her songs.

I began to sing the song, it started off soft. I didn't voice crack in the high notes luckily. I blocked off all the noise but the music. I pretended I was alone so I wouldn't mess up.

I could hear faint cheers, but I tried to keep singing. I couldn't let my nerves get to me. If I was going to sing, I wanted to sing decently at least.

The song came to an end, I unblocked the noise to finally see everybody cheering. I was flustered, Jungkook hugged me tightly and I covered my face in his chest.

"You did so amazing, don't look down on yourself. You're way too fantastic to do that to yourself you know?" His voice was soft. I thanked him and hugged him back.

He kissed my hand with the promise ring before the next person began to sing. Taehyung gave me the money and I thanked him, desserts weren't being handed out until after the countdown. It was almost time for the countdown. The parents gave us small glasses of apple cider as we all scattered around the house.

The countdown finally came, "10,9,8,7,6,5,4.." Everybody squealed in excitement. I felt eyes on me, I turned to see Jungkook as he looked at me with a smile.

"3." I looked at him as we stared deeply into each other's eyes. He smiled before saying "2."

"1!" The room was echoed with loud screams and greetings of New Years. Before Jungkook and I could kiss, something went between us.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Hoseok yelled, Jungkook and I accidentally kissed both sides of his cheeks, all the guys laughed including Sejun.

"HYUNG!" Jungkook groaned in frustration. I giggled as Jungkook kept whining to Hoseok.

"Are you mad at me Ara?" Hoseok turned to me.

"No, that was funny." I laughed. "I'm going to greet people, I'll be right back." I smiled while waving.

I began to greet my family along with people who passed by, I took sips of my apple cider and put the glass away once I finished.

I got my dessert and went back to where the guys were. I saw Taehyung sadly pass his dessert to me. I laughed as I held the two plates.

"Happy New Year." Jungkook's cousin said to us, Jungkook rolled his eyes in response.

"Happy New Year! I hope all goes well for you." I smiled. I had a goal to be much nicer, I didn't want to be who I was before.

"Thank you, you too." He bowed while joining his group of friends. We waved at each other before he left.

"What are you doing? He's the devil in disguise!" Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows looking at me. He pulled me closer while squinting his eyes to his cousin.

"Jungkook, you're cousins. He must mean no harm, it's a new year. Maybe he's trying to change." I shrugged before taking a bite of the delicious dessert.

"Change into an even more horrible person." Jungkook whined, I shook my head before kissing his cheek. He placed his head on my shoulder before we continued to talk.

"It's a new year, why have you become more cuter?" I teased while pinching his cheeks. "You look like a cute little bunny, you know?"

"No! I have muscle. Wanna see?" He smiled before trying to take off his blazer. I shook my head. "Why? Do you not want me to shake your heart?" He grinned, I rolled my eyes.

"New year Jungkook is really cocky." I shook my head. Taehyung was just pouting while staring at everybody eating.

"I would give you mine, but I realized I'm not an idiot." Yoongi laughed, Sejun giggled beside him before they both continued to eat.

I finished mine, and I was already going to eat Taehyung's. "Here Tae, let's share." I indicated for him to come forward, he quickly came at the speed of light. I used my fork for the dessert while he used the one it came with.

"Wow, Ara. You're an angel this year." Taehyung smiled.

"She's been an angel all her life, Tae. What are you talking about?" Jungkook looked at me, I couldn't help but be flustered.

"Just eat your dessert, Coconut Head." I pushed him slightly as he began to laugh. This new year was already turning out amazing.
