She remembered feeling so much hatred against Rick Reed all those years, after all, he was Shaun's mortal enemy. She loathed him for no reason and had planned out for years what she would tell him if she met him face to face. She had it all laid out in her pretty little head. She struggled to remain calm and focus her senses on the man in front of her, she wanted to utter something, but her voice seemed to be a mile apart and she could not formulate any intelligible words to say.

Rick suddenly cleared his throat. His face displayed bafflement as his brows frowned. Their eyes lingered for some time before that as each of them waited for a moment to break the tension. The silence was overbearing so when it finally broke, she was happy. She sighed silently. When her gaze met his hazel eyes again, she noticed that he was angry or annoyed. She couldn't tell.

"Are you going out of the elevator or are you going to stay here for the next twenty-four hours? he asked sarcastically. "In case you haven't noticed there are some people who are in dire need to be in this elevator to attend to their responsibilities and you being a hindrance to it is unsettling..." he uttered.

Jess's jaw dropped.

Talking about first impressions? Jess blushed at his remark. Well, she couldn't agree more that she looked stunned and crazy standing there in the elevator entrance frozen as she was staring at him. Rick had to use his body just to prevent the elevator door from closing completely.

"Mind if I go in?" Rick's brows raised. "If you have no plans to step out be my guest but I can't wait and stay here for another minute waiting for your departed consciousness to come back" There you go, another jab. Rick was talented with his sarcasm.

A strong punch hit the mark as Jess watched him say that nasty comment. She was speechless and she was unaware that her feet moved an inch forward to the elevator door. She ushered herself out of the compartment completely and made a final look at the man. His eyes were directed at her. She had no idea what thoughts were hanging on his head for his eyes didn't even give out a slight hint of his emotions this time around. As the elevator door slowly, closed Jess was nailed to where she stood, she was frustrated, unable to articulate what had happened to her. She was like that for a few seconds until the last smirk registered on Rick's lips as he disappeared from her sight completely.

A cold shiver poured down Jess's core, she wanted to scream, kick herself, and point a finger at the rude Rick Reed. Yes, she acted stupid earlier and was tongue-tied for some reason, like a fan who was starstruck meeting his idol for the first time. She also looked ridiculous as she was just staring at him in awe like a puppy with abundant admiration.

"Admiration? Huh! You wish! I was never your fan Rick Reed and never will be!" she uttered into the cold metal door of the elevator. A few eyes landed on her which made her even more uncomfortable. She slowly walked away from the area and paced herself out of the building.

Her day started spectacularly and unexpectedly, it was a dream come true for her however why should it end with the man that she didn't anticipate seeing and much worse have a confrontation with? How did her luck turn from something stupendous and end up into something repugnant? Now, her mood turned sour and foul, thanks to that crude guy who was such a pain during the entire scenario! Jess thought.

As she traced her steps away from the building Jess then stood in the bus station contemplating the events that occurred. She wondered why Rick was in that building in the first place. Does he work there? Or perhaps a project that he needs to do? He did say that he has responsibilities to fulfill. He's a famous singer after all and for sure his projects are a handful and are all too demanding. It would not be a shock if he had contracts with her agency.

Then suddenly Jess's eyes widened. "Would that mean that there is a chance I will work with him?!" She said out loud.

A loud horn made her jump as she saw the large bus maneuvering itself to fit perfectly at the bus stop. Only a few people were waiting at that time because it wasn't rush hour yet, she looked at her watch and it was already 4 o'clock. When she settled in and was comfortable in one of the bus seats, she sat near the window side.
