Kion And Fuli - A love story

2. Hakuna Matata Falls

Fuli's P.O.V.:

After the morning patrol we went, to hang out at Hakuna Matata falls. We met up with Timon and Pumbaa, and Kion, Beshte and Bunga went for a swim.

I was just laying by the water, watching them, as they were having some fun. Kion splashed some water on Bunga, then Bunga returned the favor. 

Then they made a race from the waterfall, to Beshte. They were swimming around, enjoying their time, and I was watching them,  doing nothing, but resting. Even though, this particular patrol was short, because there weren't any problems, I still needed to rest a little. I loved being alone anyways.

Ono was sitting on a rock, cleaning his feathers, Timon and Pumbaa went, to eat some bugs, and I was just wondering about the rest of the day. Maybe Ono will report something, maybe Janja and his clan will try to break the Circle of Life once again. Or we can just have some fun for the rest of the day.

Just as I was about to get some rest, someone splashed some water on me, which made me jump up, and scared me. 

The Guard laughed, but Kion came up to me and apologized.        

- Why don't you join us? - he asked, smiling.

- Very, very funny, Kion - I said ironically.

Everyone knows I hate water...

- Your choice - Kion said, then he went back to continue playing, and I could only roll my eyes.

Later they came outside, and we were just having a little chat, when suddenly we could hear Ono shouting:

- Guys! Guys, it's Janja and his clan! They are attacking the zebras!

- This day was too easy to be true wasn't it? - I asked, and we followed Ono to save the zebras.

Janja was with Chungu and Cheezi. Each one of them was chasing a seperate zebra. The zebras panicked and ran, and we had to think quickly.

Kion ordered us:

- Fuli, you go, and take Chungu out! I will go after Janja. Bunga, you go after Cheezi! Beshte and Ono, you'll have to try to calm the zebras down!

The way Kion talked, how fierce he acted... I felt something. He looked so brave and confident whenever we were in action. 

No wonder, why you are the fiercest animal in the Pride Lands.

- You got it, Kion! - I said, then I looked at Kion, and a nod of my head let him know, he has me. Then I ran off, to take out that hyena.

As always, it wasn't the hardest thing to deal with the hyenas. I got there lightning fast, dodging the zebras in my way, and I took Chungu out with a single dash. I growled at him, and he was already on the run to Janja. I followed him, to see Kion on top of Janja with his 'Get out, or I am killing you!' face. Bunga had Cheezi, too.

Janja and his clan ran off, before Kion using The Roar of The Elders on them.

- There they go - Kion said, and Beshte and Ono finally managed to calm the zebras down.

- Well done, Lion Guard! - said Kion, and she looked at Fuli, while smiling. - They ran even faster, than these zebras.

The zebras were calm now, and Thurston, the leader of them thanked The Lion Guard, for saving them, and calming them down.

- No problem! - Kion said. - Lion Guard! Let's go!

We left, and the sun was already going down. It was time for dinner, so we started heading home.

- You did a great job today, guys! - Kion said happily.

Come on, Kion! You took out Janja!

- We ALL did a great job - I said and I looked at Kion.

He looked me in the eyes, and for a second I couldn't breath. I had this feeling running through my body, warming my heart up, but it was different, than anything I have ever felt. I was just looking at him, caught up in the moment, like it took forever to end. He looked so fierce, so brave, so perfect. 

Then all of a sudden Bunga said 'Bye' to  break that short moment, of the stunning emotions I could feel waving in my chest.

- See ya tomorrow, Bunga! - the Guard said goodbye to the honeybadger.

And then in a minute it was only me and Kion left.

- You did great today, Fuli - Kion said.

- Thanks, Kion! You did pretty well, too! - I smiled.

I felt like Kion wanted to tell me something, but then he just said:

- See you tomorrow, Fuli, The Fastest! - and he turned around, to go home.

Bye, Kion, The fiercest animal of the Pride Lands - I wanted to say, but this new nervousness held the words back, to rot in my dry throat.
