I changed into some of Alia’s clothes since the other outfit I wore was wet. Jace took a shower and came out in a new sexy outfit which consisted of a tight, black shirt with a pair of jeans. I couldn’t help but admire his muscular body or his wet hair that was spiked from the shower. He looked amazing and even though I was still mad at him, I couldn’t stop staring at him.

“Like what you see?” He asked, smirking at me.

I blushed, and looked away from him. So I guess he noticed me staring at him. He took my hand and led me downstairs and outside. I wondered where we were going but whenever I asked, Jace just said it was a surprise. Well I personally hated surprises because I was never patient enough to wait for them. We got into his hot, red Mustang and he took off driving.

I never learned how to drive a car and I had rarely ever been in one. I believe I had been in a car about three times in my life. In Cadellan, we had carriages to take us around the kingdom or I just walked to places that were close. You could only imagine my fear when Jace was flying down the dirt, wooded road at seventy miles an hour. I was literally having a panic attack.

“Never drove in a car before?” He asked, amused at my reaction. I tried to keep my breathing at a normal pace but that was difficult. I watched as trees whizzed by us.

“Not really.” I breathed, holding on to the seat for dear life.

“Oh shit, really?” He asked, slowing down the car. He thought I was joking; well not everyone lives in America and has fancy cars. I nodded, feeling myself calm down as our speed decreased.

We drove for another fifteen minutes until we arrived into a small town which couldn’t have held more than five hundred people in it. It was so adorable, seeing this town compared to Cadellan and other large cities I’ve heard about. It really sucks though, not being able to experience all the things I’ve read about or seen pictures of. That’s mainly where I learned about everything, through pictures and books.

I was too lost in my thoughts to realize that we had came to a stop in front of a small building which had a small neon sign that read, “Mama’s Café.” Jace got out of the car and before I could open the door, it was already being opened for me by Jace. I smiled and got out of the car. He took my hand in his and I wasn’t in the mood to hate him right now, so I let him hold it.

He lead me inside and to my surprise it was totally empty. The lights were off and I wasn’t even sure if the place was open. I went to speak but Jace stopped me when he let go of my hand and started to walk around. I could only see his shadow so I was confused on what he was doing. Then the lights flickered on and I closed my eyes, nearly blinded by the light. I slowly opened them, letting them adjust to the light.

I couldn’t help but let a small gasp escape my mouth. In the center of the room was a small table for two. It was covered with a red table cloth and an unlit candle sat in the middle of it. I watched as Jace lit the candle and then pulled something out from behind his back. He walked over to me and handed me a bouquet of carnations.
