Giovanni Didn't Come To Paint
××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××דWhy Hello~ Milady.”
Cass looks beside her and sees Varian smirking up at her after sitting down. She groans and rolls her eyes. You sit next to Varian, clearly still asleep since this thing started early.
“What is HE doing here?” Cassandra asks you.
You shrug and yawn, “Too early to talk, please call back later.” Your head falls onto Varian's shoulder.
You didn't know how long you were asleep, but you opened your eyes when a whistle is blown. Silently you watch Eugene go throughout the course and mentally growl since Cassandra’s dad is picking on Eugene.
Seriously. Having a bigger guard on Eugene's back as Eugene does one push up. He climbs up a very high wooden wall and when he lands, he's catapulted up.
“Ah!” His shirt catches on the corner of the wall on the top. The Captain and other guards taunt and laugh at him.
It was late again and Eugene had gone inside with a defeated posture and looked extremely tired.
The three of you look to each other before going in after him. Cass leans on the door frame of Eugene's bedroom, “Ready to give up?”
Eugene scoffs, slouching back on his bed, “Oh, you'd love that wouldn't you?”
Cass bites her lip, “Honestly, I don't care.”
You sit next to Eugene and can tell Cass secretly does care. Varian is standing next to her. “Look….it doesn't matter anyway. No matter how hard I try on that final tomorrow, your dad will cook up on some cheap shot to make sure I fail.” He crosses his arms, stressfully, “He wants me out, end of story.”
Cass glances away and goes to walk until you speak up, “Eugene, you're way too much effort to become something you're not. Use who you really are to show the Captain, or just prove to anyone that you are more than what they see.”
You smile as Cass gives her say too, “You know for someone who spent most of his life breaking the rules to get want he wants. You're having an awful lot of trouble dealing with someone who is breaking the rules to get what HE wants.”
She leaves and you pat Eugene’s shoulder, “You can do it.” You get up and head to the door, but Varian stops you.
“Mr. Rider, you do know you are my hero. You are a legend because you used your brain.”
“Half of the time.” You mumble.
“You make your own rules, use what you do best and be the devilishly handsome, FLYNN RIDER!” Varian pants and you gently pull him out. “Varian's right, just be yourself, Eugene!”
“(____)! I need to stay one more night to cheer, Flynn on tomorrow! I know he can do it!” Varian gives you pleading eyes and you laugh.
“You didn't have to ask. I'm sure he needs his fanboy to cheer him on.”
The next morning, you were a little more awake than the day before. You yawn and lean on Max now since Varian was on the other side of Cass.
You realize something. Shorty was asleep and in line for the training course. It took awhile, but Eugene finally came out.
“Complete the course before the whistle blows.” The captain said then jumps when Eugene speaks up in a sarcastic tone.
“Actually, sir. Can you go through that one more time? It's just my brain is so use to tuning your voice out that I-”
