The Possessive Alpha and his Stubborn Mate

Chapter 20

Sorry about the long chapter, I know you guys don't like those ;) JK JK,  it isn't really a long chapter. Also, I've been updating this book a lot but that's because I have a lot of chapters that have been already written and they just need to be published, ya know?

The day has been horrible. Derek had "Alpha duties" to attend to and I found myself stuck going around with my two guards, and my mother meeting pack member after pack member.

Of course, I didn't get to all of them and I didn't plan on it. This pack was too big for me to meet every freaking member there was!

At the end of the day, I was satisfied with myself for meeting a bunch of them. My mom had said I also did really good at acting like a real "Luna" of course she didn't know any of it was an act. Actually, Derek and I are the only ones that know I'm doing this because I wanted Eric to be spared.

I wondered when I'd see him if I'd see him at all. Derek had already dropped me out of school, he did it the moment I agreed to be his mate and Luna, so there was no "accidentally" running into him at school to apologize. I'd have to wait to see him at the pack.

But I wanted to do it before Derek held a pack gathering to introduce his mate officially. I dreaded that moment so much. I just wasn't ready to stand on a platform where people would see me as their Luna.

Besides half the pack heard that I had a "mistress" or whatever. I'm sure some of them thought it was a rumor and some of them believed it, but still!

I just didn't like the thought.

I didn't like a lot of things about being a mate and Luna. The one thing I dreaded most was getting marked. I didn't know the complete definition of it but the one thing I did know was that Derek would although not know everything I was thinking, he'd always know what emotion I had on me. He'd also know how to track me within a second with the mark, there was just so much behind being "marked" that I didn't know.

We walked back to the pack house, my two big guards following us. Derek insisted on me having guards around me when I'm out in public, constantly. He said it was more for show rather literally, but I knew they were just keeping tabs on me so that later they can tell Derek everything I did wrong and right.

"Thanks for coming with me, mom." I murmur. I really didn't want to do it alone so I was very freaking thankful when my mom happily agreed to go around meeting my pack members with me.

I always thought that Luna was just for show, but upon searching through Derek's bookshelves and reading up more on Luna's, I found out I was slightly wrong. It said that some Luna's help train pack members, and that Luna's should have a form of fighting to protect her pack. The thing was, I'm a human, so how is that possible for me?

So in other words, regular wolf Luna's do have a meaning behind the title, as for me, I do not.

I'm just a plain old Luna who can't do crap because I don't have what every pack member has, strength and a wolf to transform into.

I had no means to actually be a Luna! I wasn't a wolf, so how would all these pack members look up to a human?!

I was freaking out over that!

"Of course sweetheart. I know you didn't expect any of this and it's a lot to take in at once. At one point you thought you'd never have to deal with werewolf stuff like this, now it's your life." She gives me a polite smile but I just frown.

It's my life now. Ugh.

We got to the pack house, walking into the kitchen I hand my mom a water bottle along with the two guards that had followed us all day long, probably bored out of their minds.
