Kara's P.O.V.
"Lena," I groan as my girlfriend refutes another attempt by me to get her to leave work and go home. She shakes her head at me from across the room and continues to sit at her desk, reading through and responding to a bunch of emails on her laptop.
Huffing, I decide to take matters into my own hands. I quickly cross the room to Lena and she doesn't even look up as I reach her side. I sigh heavily again and Lena just continues to shake her head, focusing on the computer.
"Kara," She warns, eyes still scanning the words displayed on the screen. I ignore her tone of voice and continue my plan. I pluck Lena up out of her chair and she doesn't even so much as squeal as she rises in the air. Instead, like the Lena she is, she just manages to grab her laptop as she's dragged up. I roll my eyes and start to hover over the ground. Still flying and with Lena in one arm, I retrieve her purse from the corner and fly out to the balcony.
I shoot up into the air, knowing it's too dark for people to see me clearly anyways. Once I'm hovering high above National City, I start hovering horizontally and shift Lena so she's sitting on my back. I feel her set her computer down in front of her, resting it on my back.
I roll my eyes at her and the fact that, not once, has Lena voiced any type of fear or concern. I know that she's for sure not scared because her heart rate has stayed steady and calm this entire time. My heart swells as I realize that this shows how much Lena trusts me, considering flying is her least favorite way to travel.
The entire way back to my apartment, I make sure to fly at a slow speed so Lena or her computer don't fall off my back and plummet back to Earth. Though, I would probably make sure to catch them before they hit the ground. Especially if it were to be Lena plummeting.
Once I make it back to the apartment, I set Lena on the couch as she continues to read through emails. Then, instantaneously, she shuts her laptop and looks up at me with amusement and mock annoyance.
"Really, darling? You have the patience of a five year old," Lena teases, chuckling quietly. I grin back at her, giggling a little myself.
"Honestly, this was probably the most efficient way to get you out of that darn office," I tease right back and Lena laughs again. She nods her head, as if agreeing with the statement, then shakes it, as if in utter disbelief.
"Well, I do almost love my work as much as I love you." Lena stands up, crossing the room towards me. She wraps her arms around my neck and smiles at me warmly.
"I'm above work? Well, I'm honored." I lean in, kissing Lena softly and smiling into our kiss.
"You'll always be more important than work."
