I straightened my hair in the mirror, section by section again, going over it.

"Is there a special occasion today or something?" Jake asked as he sat behind me.

"Yeah actually, Jason's coming over." I grinned to myself. "Oh, where or ..what are yall doing, I mean?" He asked.

"Nothing for your ears." I snickered.

He scuffed. "So you're going at 6, right?" I asked.

"Yes India, for the 100th time."

"Okay okay." I said, combing the rest of my hair out.

"-do I look good?" I asked him as I turned around.

"You look beautiful, as always." He replied, getting up and scrummaging through the wardrobe.

"Thank you." I smiled at my reflection.

I put my straighteners away and picked up my dress. "I'm wearing this tonight, look." I said, holding it against my body.

He walked over and looked at it.."-you'll, uh-.." He begun, as he pressed it onto my hips with his hands.

He pinned it right against my body, his eyes not budging from me nor the dress.

"I'll.. ?"

He looked up at me, "..oh, yeah, you'll look great." He said, going back towards the wardrobe.

"Thanks."
I replied, slightly freaked out yet flattered.

I'm going all natural today, no make up. I mean maybe some mascara and eyeliner, but no more than that. What's the point of putting on so much?

I put on my music, turning it up to the max volume.

"I'm getting in the shower." Jake said. "Alright." I replied, putting down the dress.

I sat back on the bed and grabbed my phone.
