Natsu's P.O.V
I held Nashi in my arms and rocked her as she slept. The air pump she was connected to was noisy, and I was surprised both Nashi and Lucy fell asleep in this condition.
I was happy though, because Nashi so far hasn't been needed to be connected to the forceful air pump like Lucy had to when she had her surgery. Then again, Nashi was a newborn. I'm sure that she's too frail for that machine anyways.
As she slept, I took in every detail about her appearance so far. She definitely inherited my hair, but she had Lucy's face and eyes. She looked beautiful.
About an hour later, Lucy woke up and looked over at us. She smiled at the sight and reached out to grab my hand. I freed one of my hands from holding Nashi and held Lucy's.
"You should be proud Luce. Shoes absolutely perfect." I whispered. Lucy's smile slowly faded as she asked a question.
"Natsu, for our daughter... Will you promise to be the father I once had as a child, and stay that way?"
"I promise Lucy. I will love our daughter forever and never become the father yours became."
And with that, Lucy fell back to sleep with a smile on her face.
