You are walking with gaara towards your room. He offered to walk you back and you had no choice but to accept it. Well, he's so persuasive indeed."The weather's nice today isn't it?"
You speak, trying to break the awkward silence that has been bothering you for a while now.
"It is. Usually, it is either much hotter, or windy, but today the weather's just fine."
He answers.
"Does the weather always change here?"
"Yes, it is. If today is hot, the next day will be colder. Sometimes, it'll rain at night when the day is scorching. In other words, the weather always interchange."
You listen to him in awe.
"You sure do know a lot, don't you?"
Gaara looks at you and smiles.
"Of course. Before this, i had nothing to do except for looking at the weather. But now, it seems like i am too busy to even look at the sky. It is nice to be able to do it some times."
His gaze is fixed to the sky, with a smile plastered on him.
Suddenly, a soft breeze passes by and brushes his hair. He closes his eyes to enjoy the pleasure of being greeted by the wind.
You are stunned for a while. Just by watching him, you can feel the slight relief that he feels.
He must've been so busy that it suffocates him.
"You don't have to be out and walking like this to look at the sky, you know."
Gaara's attention is moved towards you.
"What do you mean?"
He asks, looking confused.
You chuckle and walk a few steps ahead of him.
"I mean, you can look at the sky wherever and whenever you want. I don't know how busy you are as the student council president, but you can always look up to the sky occasionally to relieve your stress. Looking at you, people will say that you have no feelings and can do your work perfectly. Even i thought that way before. But now i understand. It's not that you don't have feelings. It's just that you feel too much, and are perplexed as to which one you want to show. In the end, you choose to surpress and hide everything. You keep yourself busy with your work. You avoid talking about yourself. But then, you still can't help but to feel lonely, isn't it?"
Gaara startled at your words. He is surprised at how real those words are. He is amazed at how you can understand him when you've just known each other for a few days.
And that touches his heart.
He creates a smile.
"What's wrong with you konoha people."
You are confused at his sudden utterance. You only stare at him as he brushes his hair.
Why...?
"I'm amazed. I've been here in suna for years. But no one else ever told me that. It was like that too few years ago. People are afraid of me, and i also never bothered to talk to them or approach them. I thought that it was a waste of time. They hated me. So i didn't want to waste my time to get their favor. I was good enough on my own. I'm smart, I'm rich. I have everything. I don't need them. But then one day, i went to konoha and met a group of very weird people. No matter how much i tried to avoid them, they'll approach me. I even insulted them as to not being on the same par as me. But they never care. Especially that air-headed naruto. He'll always annoy me all the time. Calling out to me, talking to me and approaching me. I pushed him away, but he never cared, so i have no choice but to allow him to."
