(Sasuke X Reader) The Eyes That Capture

Chapter 57

"Finally, it's over."

Shikamaru whines.

You  have just finished the final stage of the quiz with everyone else and are now walking towards your room.

It was very competitive on the stage, and all of you are exhausted. All questions were super hard and everyone was very smart. You basically had to push your brain to the maximum level. Of course, Shikamaru is the one that complains the most. 

All of you were basically lucky that your cumulative marks is still in the top three. Well, actually, you placed second behind Suna. The competition was so tense, that's why. And now you just need to wait for the final result that will be announced tomorrow. The winners will be decided with all marks of three stages added. It will be very tense then.

However, along the competition, the rivalry between Sasuke and Gaara was the strongest.

They basically compete with each other to answer every question, but most of the time, Sasuke was slightly faster. He wins 4 of 6 rounds in the battle between those two.

He is really something.

"Hey, what are we going to do today?"

Temari asks, starting a conversation.

"I don't know. I just want to sleep."

Shikamaru answers in his usual not-so-enthusiastic tone.

Temari sighs.

"Just do something fun and useful for once, can't you?"

"Well, I did a lot of useful things already for three days. So i deserve to rest now aren't i?"

"No. Shikamaru, please... Let's go for a walk in town. We're finally free now, so please, please, please, please, please~~~"

Temari basically pleads to ask him out. Shikamaru scratches the back of his neck and sighs.

"I can't promise you, but i'll think about it."

"Yeay! Thank you!"

Temari turns to look at the rest of you.

"Hey, (name), neji, sasuke, wanna join us?"

You hesitate a little. If the other two agree to go, then you'll go as well. If not, you wouldn't want to be the third wheeler between them.

"I have an appointment. Sorry, I can't go."

Neji answers.

"I'm busy."

Now it's sasuke.

Next, it would be you. Temari looks at you with a sparkle in her eyes. She is really looking forward to your answer. But then, you don't want to be the third person between the couple.

You hesitate for a while, not knowing what to say.

"Err... I... I..."

"She has a plan."

Out of the blue, sasuke interferes.

You stare at him quizzically.

"What?"

The uchiha boy simply moves his eyes towards a silhouette in front of you.

There, at that direction, stands a red-haired boy leaning on the wall looking as if he's waiting for someone. It's confusing to see him there.

"Gaara?"

The male shifts his gaze towards all of you when temari says his name.

Then, he smiles.
