Nya is an orphaned blacksmith, abandoned by her older brother long ago. Life is tedious and uneventful, until one day, a visitor arrives and changes her life forever.

A close-up of the cover. Nya's outfit was based on the high-neck and sash of her s1-s2 outfit, the colors of her pre-s8 uniform, the basic design of the ninja's pilot outfits, and my favorite part, the side armor inspired by Jay's ZX uniform! I also added small buckles, inspired by Kai's ZX uniform, and her hair is much longer, tied up in a ponytail like s8-present.

I wanted Jay's uniform to look as dramatic as possible, because come on, it's Jay! His cloak and collar are very vampire-inspired, a little callback to my other fic, Bloodthirsty, and his uniform is adjourned with little bones, like the other generals. I imagined his uniform would be pretty simple underneath his cloak, so I didn't really bother referencing Ninjago seasons in his attire like I did with Nya. That's gonna change in the next part, however, once he gets to express his individuality more!
Sensei's was the simplest one to do. I added more golden elements to his simple white robes, since he reveals more of his elemental powers early-on in the alternate version.

Here's the top part of the cover, the part I really rushed on 😅 Here you can tell that each general has a unique style to their simple uniforms; Kai looks like the obvious main bad guy that would be in a Ninjago season- red and black. Like the other generals, his cloak drapes over his shoulders, but he does have sleeves on his, making it more of a coat ((although it ties together like a cape? what a nerd)). Zane's uniform is definitely more prince-like; his cloak drapes over one shoulder like a cape and is lined with fur. Since he's more of a high-ranking general, due to his advantages as an android, his uniform is a lot fancier than Jay's and Cole's; it's like the opposite of Kai's ((which reminds me of their causal wear- Zane is basically wearing the same hoodie and jeans as Kai but in a different color lmao)). Even then, Zane's uniform still has more layers, and therefore more decorations, than Kai's ((although Zane needs them for his arctic missions)), which triggered his jealousy ((see: Zane's face)). Cole's is more rugged than the others but it is not simple. In place of small bones, his cloak is fashioned with real dragon claws ((ones he didn't harvest himself, mainly because he was afraid of them)) and silver chains. Attached to the claws is an additional leather backing; its purpose was to protect his cloak, which was already beginning to wear down. Oh, and Garmadon's eyes are in the background lol
