The next morning I thought today was Friday but Dad never came in to wake us up. I smelled bacon and remembered that it was Saturday. This week has been really long and low key stressful that I'm glad the weekend came.

I sat up and stretched my arms looking at the window next to me. Ricky was still sound asleep in his bed facing the same window. I couldn't help but smile, he looked so peaceful other than me. I had a really unpleasant dream, but I rather not tell about it.

I got up from my bed and stretched some more. As I yawned I came up with a funny idea. I walked towards Ricky's bed and dog piled on him. He yelped and I couldn't help but burst out laughing. "Dwayne! Don't do that!" He moaned in annoyance.

"Whoops, sorry little bro." I said through laughter.

"Get off of me." Ricky tried to roll over and I fell on the other side of the bed. We heard a knock on our door and JD came in.

"Mommy said that breakfast is ready." He announced. We both got off the bed and went downstairs with JD.

After breakfast, I went back to my room and laid in my bed humming a Muse song Ricky got me into. I looked at the back corner and saw Figaro sitting there staring at me. I stared back at him and was having a mini staring contest.

Figaro all of a sudden crawled towards me and jumped on my bed with me. "Love you too." I said and pat his head. Then I started to remember what Christopher told me: "She never wanted me to tell you this, but she has a crush on you."

I started to blush and facepalmed myself. I sighed loudly and looked at Figaro. "Figaro, has a cat ever told you that some other cat has a crush on you and you just don't know how to feel?" He just began to lick his left paw.

I sighed again and slammed my head on the pillow. I mean, Jacqueline is quite pretty. Her hazel eyes glow every time she smiles. Speaking of, she has a pretty smile, a beautiful smile. Her long curly brown hair just matches her skin complexion and she has such a cute laugh—oh. I guess thinking about Jacqueline's features makes me like her more than just as friends. I blushed even harder at that thought. "I guess I like her, too." I said to myself.

We heard a knock on our front door and Dad, with his blue and white plaid shirt on, answered it and Grandma Vynette walked in. "Good evening, Jonathan. How are you?" She asked Dad.

"I'm doing fantastic." Dad answered.

"Awww, look at my four grandbabies growing up so fast. I haven't seen y'all since JD and Richard we're still little toddlers. This is quite a nice place y'all got here." It's funny how she'll jump to one topic to another, but that's how she roll.

"Ok so they've already eaten dinner so you don't have to worry about making anything. If they do get hungry again, they can eat a slice of that strawberry cake. Lucille just got her diaper changed but she may need another bottle in the next hour or so. And that's about it." Mom said opening the front door.

"Ok. Enjoy y'all's anniversary." Grandma said.

"We will. Bye. Bye boys." Mom waved and got in her car. We all waved and shut the front door.

"Can we have a slice of that strawberry cake?" JD quickly asked.

Grandma Vynette chuckled. "Sure."

"You should try it, it's amazing. And the recipe is made in a different country." Ricky said.

"Oh you guys traveled to another country?" Grandma asked.

"Well, sort of." I answered kind of nervously. "It was a long story and it was difficult telling it to our parents."

Grandma looked puzzled at us. "Well okay then. I would love to try the cake though." Ricky turned around with a slightly big slice of cake on a little plate and handed it to Grandma. She took a bite with a fork and her eyebrows raised. "This is pretty good. And pretty moist too."

"I know right? Made from fresh strawberries too." JD said. Grandma nodded her head in agreement and gave the rest of us a slice of cake.

An hour past and we were all watching tv in the living room. Grandma Vynette tapped me on the shoulder and asked, "Aren't you in high school now?"

"Um, no I'm in middle school." I answered.

"Oh I jumped a little far ahead didn't I?" She chuckled. I snickered with her. "Your father had told me that you've been pretty distant and sad lately. What's been going on?"

See what I mean?

I sighed and said, "Nothing is wrong, Grandma."

"Are you sure? Because he did sound a little concerned."

I wanted to yell, "I'm fine Grandma! Stop worrying about me!" But I had to respect my elders so I said, "Yes I'm sure." With a smile.

"Ok. Just making sure." Grandma said ending the conversation. We heard the front door open and saw Mom and Dad walk in. "How was you guys' evening?"

"Oh it was wonderful." Mom answered. "The food and the atmosphere was just perfect and we both had a great time together."

Grandma began to get up from the couch and gather her stuff. "Well I must get going, it was nice to hang out with you kids."

"Bye Grandma!" JD waved. She waved back and closed the front door.

"Looks like you guys just took a shower, right?" Dad asked.

"No, we just decided to skip the shower and put on our pjs right away." Ricky joked.

Dad chuckled. "Okay, then y'all can get finish getting ready for bed."

"Okay." We all said and headed upstairs.
