It's been 3 years since my husband Tom left to go to the military.

Last time I saw him was when his family and me left to drop him off.

Flash back...

I get out of the car and Tom gets out too.

His family was already standing by the entrance ready to say goodbye for now.

He hugs them all and he says his goodbyes until he will see us again.

Then he turned to me.

I was on the verge of tears.

"Hey darling." He says holding my hands

"I'm gonna miss you so much." I say

"I'm gonna miss you too darling. So much." He says and hugs me.

Then that's when I let the tears fall.

I nestle my head into the crook of his neck and cry.

He whispers 'I love you's' in my ears.

I pull away from him and kiss him.

He kisses back and we stay like that for a hike until he had to pull away.

"I love you so much." I say

"I love you too, so much." He says

He lets go of me and he smiles.

I try my best to smile.

"I'll be back love, I'll always come back to you." He says cupping my cheek.

I nod.

"I love you." I say softly

"I love you too." He replies

Then he says goodbye to his family and he walks to where the rest of the soldiers are.

He turns around and waves to all of us.

We wave back.

Then he disappears in the crowd.

Flashback over.

I can't believe that was 3 years ago...

I sat on the couch looking at a picture of us at our wedding.

I smile.

Even though it hurts having him away... he's out there helping people.

Then the doorbell rings.

I put the picture back on the mantle above the fireplace and I look at myself in the mirror to make sure I don't look bad. I look fine.

I open the door and it was Nikki.

"Hello Nikki!" I say smiling.
