Hosuh was a cat person.

Stephen and Dan knew this, too well in fact. Any time a cat was nearby, they watched as Hosuh would hurry towards it and happily pet it. It was as cute as it was worrying.

They took on the roles of protecters from any claws that may be nearby, not to mention if its evident the cat is angry. You never know when a cat can suddenly start hating you.

What neither of them really account for though is that in their efforts to get the cat away from Hosuh, the cat now has a reason to hate them.

They've lost count of how many times they've got injured from Hosuh going towards a cat. It's so often that a cat appearing has become less of a code 'save Hosuh' and more of a code 'save Daniel and Stephen'.

"Guys you really don't have to do that" Hosuh said once, watching as the other two stomped on the ground to try and get the cats attention.

"But the cat could hurt you!" Daniel remembers replying, to which he got an aspirated look and a sigh.
"She's not going to hurt you if you be nice to her", the cat proved his point by hissing at a creeping Stephen.

It got so bad one day that Stephen ended up getting an almost stitches worthy cut from a particularly vicious cat who - to quote Stephen himself - "nearly bit his leg off".

Naturally, Hosuh needed it to stop.

And so that morning, when a cat passed by, he made it his mission to stay as close to the cat as physically possible, in order to convince the other two that no harm would come to him.

"W-wait Hosuh don't go near it!" Stephen yelled, wanting to stop his friend but hesitant to follow him.

The older, with as much vigour and grace as he could manage, picked up the cat and held it to his chest. He cradled the felines body like a baby and snuggled it close to his face.

His best friends stood horrified; until suddenly chaos erupted.

Daniel ran towards him and almost looked ready to slap the cat out of his hands if he wasn't worried about hurting it. Stephen however decided to actually try and grab the cat, startling Hosuh into gliding out of the way.

"Guys it's fine! He's not going to hurt me! See?" He lifted the cats paws up gently, in a wave like motion.

The green head couldn't help but loudly gasp when the cat growled and held its claws out.
"Hosuh let go of the cat quickly!"

He was too late, and with a yelp the felines claws swiped at the soft skin of Hosuh's hand before running away.
"Hosuh!!"

Stephen, being the closest, got to the crouching male first and studied his hand carefully.
"I-it's just a scratch, it doesn't hurt that bad"
"You idiot! That could of been so much worse! Why did you do that stupid?!" He flinched at the yelling.

"Sorry. I, I just wanted you to trust cats more" was the quiet murmur. His friends looked each other in the eye and sighed.

"We're sorry too" Dan said, taking some plasters out from nowhere and wrapping them around Hosuh's fingers and hand. "We just worry is all, we'll promise not to be so persistent form now on. Okay?"

Stephen smiled affectionately along with the words, helping his injured up from the grimy floor.

After that incident the two boys dialled down their rescue attempts. But Hosuh couldn't help but feel that little bit more grateful every time they came to save the day.
