I got a call from Corbin and I sighed before answering. "What?"

"Who is this?" Some nigga asked, answering his phone.

One of his idiot friends.

I hated the dummies that he hung around with a passion.

Like him, they all had money and big houses.

"Who is this?" I responded, looking around the lingerie store.

"Corbin's a dick. You fucking with that dick?"

"You sound like a dick. Calling people on his phone."

"Girl-"

There was shuffling and then Corbin spoke. "Shit. Hello?" He asked. "I'm outside now"

"I hope that my name wasn't on the screen"

"It wasn't. It was some wild shit. What are you doing? Why your car not in it's spot?"

I sighed. "Goodbye, C"

"I was in the area and I happened to notice. What are you doing?"

"I'm shopping"

"Are you going tonight?"

"Yes, and please do not come and see me. I will have you escorted out."

"I won't. I'm hanging around campus tonight"

"Okay, whatever. Bye."

"Bye"

"Aye! Blue set. How loud can you get?!"

I turned around on my heels and walked towards the guy in the group. "Would you like to buy some drinks?"

"Can I buy your time?" He asked.

I bit my lip and looked him up and down. "I don't think so. But you can still buy drinks."

"I'll buy the whole tray" He pulled out his wallet.

"It's his birthday!" Somebody shouted.

"It is?"

The drink buyer took the tray and passed it back while nodding his head.

"Happy birthday, baby"

"Thank you. I want you to have my children."

"Would you put a ring on it first?" I asked, stepping forward and sitting on his lap.

I truly believed that if Corbin saw me with another nigga like this, he would kill him.

I shook the idea out of my head.

He grabbed my hand and kissed my ring finger.

I smiled at him and stood up, backing off. "I'll send a friend"

I walked back on campus, carrying my bag and holding my neck.

I moved quickly and quietly because I didn't want anyone to see me.

I gasped and paused when I saw the guy that I danced on, walking on campus too.

With a big stupid crown.

"What?" I heard Corbin ask from behind me.

I dropped my ice pack and ducked down when the guy turned around.

"Why are you here? You don't live here!"

"I wanted to make sure that you made it back safe. Are you icing a hickey?" He touched my neck.

"No. Mind your business."

He grabbed my bag from me and followed behind me. All the way up to my apartment.

"Are you crazy?" I unlocked my door and stepped in.

"Uh huh" He nodded his head and looked around.

"I'm safe. Go home, please."

"Why don't you try to make friends, you cynic? Not too many friends though"

"You just answered yourself" I put my bag down. "I don't need friends. The second something goes wrong, I'm a dirty ass hoe."

"You're right. I don't need anyone to know that you're stripping. They're gonna come see you"

"Go home"

"Come home" He countered. "I miss you laying next to me."

"I'm good."

"I could draw a bath for you and rub your feet. Then we can watch movies, eat something, and go to sleep. We can get breakfast in the morning and come to class."

He took my glasses off of the counter and put them on my face even though I had my contacts on.

"All you gotta do is stand here, and I'll go pack your bag. Give me five minutes."

"No. I have homework."

"You're lonely. I'm lonely. Come on, Ali"

I sighed and he took that as a yes.

"I'll grab the books"

"You not sleep" Corbin slapped my butt. "Good morning"

I pointed at his night stand and sat up.

"I took the pill before I bothered you, beautiful. I love you"

I bit my lip and sat up in his bed.  "Good morning"

"I said that I love you"

So he was a liar.

"Please take the pill"

He sighed and I watched him take it.

"Thank you" I mumbled.
