Chapter 12-Guilty Displeasures

Revenge is supposed to feel good but how Ally felt was far from 'good'. Two days had passed since the party and she hadn't heard anything from Cameron. She had called and messaged him over and over again but he didn't reply. She wasn't complaining about that though, she knew she deserved to be ignored by him after what she had done.

She called Ryan on Sunday to ask about him but he told that Cameron was 'fine'. Haley had talked to Luke and he said Cameron was hospitalized for a day.

She felt like shit watching him struggle to breathe knowing she was the main cause of his pathetic condition. She knew she had gone too far this time and she was willing to go to any extent to be forgiven.

School went on normally on Monday but Cameron was obviously absent. She was worried about him and for the first time she felt sitting in the Chemistry class. Although Jake talked to her and she got happy momentarily but later she was back to her guilty self.

So during lunch she decided to talk to Ryan about it. She needed to know more about him. "Where's Cameron?" she asked as casually as possible. Ryan and Luke had been sitting with them since last week mostly because Luke wanted to sit beside Haley. But all of them had become sort of friends and the girls didn't mind a bunch of male friends.

Haley and Becky coughed beside her as soon as the words left her mouth. Ally glared at them to stop them from over reacting. She was glad that her friends had managed to keep her prank a secret.

"Oh... He's kind of okay now." Ryan said whirling his spoon unconsciously in the plate in front of him.

"Since when does he have this allergy thing?" Becky asked peeping into the conversation.

"I don't know since... I think... when he was seven or eight." Luke said and everyone except Ally nodded going back to their food indicating the end of the topic.

"Umm... Why didn't he come to school today?" Ally asked saying the words too quickly. Although she knew the answer she was just checking up on him. All of the four heads snapped up and looking at her skeptically.

"Well, Mrs. Bennett gave us this assignment today." She quickly covered up. It was true that her teacher had given them an assignment to complete.

"He was not feeling well. He has got all this weird ulcers in his mouth because of the chili. He'll come tomorrow though... hopefully." Ryan responded and she felt guilty again. Ulcers? That sounded really painful.

"We still don't know who did that stupid prank." Luke said looking around the cafeteria suspiciously. She shifted in her seat and looked down at her tray.

Even after being so cruel to him he has to be the bigger person and not tell anybody, not even his best friends? Why? What the hell does he want? Besides making her feel shallow and small.

"Maybe it's just one of your basketball rivals." Haley said looking at Luke and he nodded. Of course, he wouldn't say no to her. He was like love smitten puppy. She passed a look of appreciation to Haley and mentally thanked her for passing the blame on someone else.

The bell rang and the boys said their goodbyes and went away leaving the three of them alone. "What are you going to do now?" Becky asked and she knew exactly what she was going to do. Apologize. She wasn't one of those people who would sit idle after making a mistake.

"I don't know... But apologizing sounds good." Ally said looking at the floor. She was feeling really bad and she needed to get this guilt off her shoulders.

"But he's not responding to my calls." Ally said looking up to see both of her friends looking amused.

"Just go to his house you dumbass." Haley answered crossing her arms.
