His voice was excited, but it made me nervous.
"Well then?" I repeated.
He nodded. "Rock climbing."
"No."
"Bungee jumping."
"No."
"Sky diving."
"No."
"Snorkelling."
I paused. "No."
"Movies?"
"Okay."
He grinned. "What movie? Guardians of the Galaxy?"
"No."
"Mrs Brown's Boys?"
"No."
"The Hundred Foot Journey."
"Okay."
He grinned again, and his eyes twinkled. The dirty blonde hair stuck out from under his beanie, which was slipping off. "Good stuff. Tonight, 6?"
"Okay."
It seemed the three main words in my vocabulary were oh, okay, and no.
I sighed inwardly, looking up at his smile.
It was soft, bright, calm, beautiful; it was light, it was indescribable because it wasn't something you could describe. You could think of describing it, you could give it names, but you couldn't ever sum it up in one word.
Unlike me, who could be simply described as broken.
