I was standing in the movie line.
The tickets were ten dollars, and the flimsy piece of plastic was fluttering gently in my fingers as I stared at it.
My pay for one shift, wasted on a silly movie with a probably silly boy with a silly smile.
I sighed, thinking, what have I gotten myself into?
But then out of the corner of my eye, I saw him walk in, his silly red beanie almost falling off his dirty blonde locks.
And he was with Tim, talking to him.
I gasped loudly, and Tim saw me and waved enthusiastically.
He waved too, a mocking glint in his eyes that were so alike Tim's.
I stepped backwards, out of line, hyperventilating. They walked closer, their Vans scuffing along the mauve carpet in unison.
I turned and bolted, to where I didn't know.
I just ran, away from my nightmares, away from my darkness.
