(Bill lives in an abandoned house, only to find you've made it your favourite hangout)
I wandered into the abandoned home, floorboards creaking under my soft steps. This old house is wonderful, I can't think why it would ever be abandoned! Hey, I'll tell you a secret. The reason I come here to be alone instead of sitting at my house is because this house is rumoured to be haunted by a demon and I wouldn't mind making friends with it, humans are too picky.
As if on cue, I heard a laugh from deep within the house. I went to check it out and began singing, "I don't like walking around this old and empty house..." and as I prepared to sing the male part, a voice took over for me. "So hold my hand I'll walk with you, my dear~" I wasn't going to complain, seeing as I could rarely hit those notes, and sung along. "The stairs creak as I sleep, it's keeping me awake." I trailed my fingers up the stairs banister. "It's the house telling you to close your eyes." I did, a presence appearing beside me and taking my hands in its own. I opened my eyes to see a guy, around my age, with blonde hair and an eye patch slung across his left eye. He was far too overdressed to be hanging around in this place but I didn't question it and continued. "Some days I can't even, trust myself." He gave a soft smile, "It's killing me to see you this way..."
We began to harmonize. "Though the truth may vary, this ship with carry our bodies safe to shore." We began to dance, I swear I could almost hear the music in the air. The occasional "Hey!" left our lips before we launched into the next verse. "There's an old voice in my head that's holding me back." We were back to clasping each other's hands as he sung out, buttery smooth, "Well tell her that I miss our little talks." He smiled. "Soon it will be over and buried with our pasts..." He spun me a little. "We used to play outside when we were young, and full of life and full of love." "Some days I don't know if I am wrong or right." His eyes seemed to shine in the fading light. "Your mind is playing tricks on you, my dear."
We sat down on the dusty sofa and continued. "Cause the truth may vary, this ship will carry our bodies safe to shore." We both took a deep breath before plunging into the chorus. "Don't listen to a word I say! The screams all sound the same! Though the truth may vary, this ship will carry our bodies safe to shore." He kissed my hand before we sung, "You're gone, gone, gone away, I watched you disappear." His figure faded out but we continued to sing. "All that's left is the ghost of you..." I placed my arms around my stomach, not knowing what to do with my hands now he wasn't holding them. He silenced as I continued. "Now we're torn, torn, torn apart, there's nothing we can do. Just let me go, we'll meet again soon." Something grabbed my arms, pulling me from the couch. We sung together once more, "Now wait, wait, wait for me! Please hang around! I'll see you when I fall asleep!"
We began to spin around the room again, my feet leaving the floor. "Don't listen to a word I say, hey! The screams all sound the same... Though the truth may vary, this ship will carry our bodies safe to shore." We floated higher, repeating the chorus. "Don't listen to a word I say, hey! The screams all sound the same... Though the truth may vary, this ship will carry our bodies safe to shore."
He held my hands, gentle but firm enough to let me know he wasn't going to drop me. "Though the truth may vary, this ship will carry our bodies safe to shore." We lowered a bit, "Though the truth may vary, this ship will carry our bodies safe to shore." My feet were on the ground when we sung the last line, "Though the truth may vary, this ship will carry our bodies safe to shore..."
We collapsed on the floor, staring at each other. He was the first to speak, "Your, uh, voice is really good..." He said, his face as red as my mother's crystal vase. I let a breathy laugh. "Yea, you were great. I've never had so much fun!" I exclaimed. He put his hand out for a shake and I gladly took it, introducing myself. "Bill Cipher." He replied, as a way of introduction. He looked unsure for a moment before adding, "Interdimensional dream demon." I nodded, kind of figuring that with the whole disappearing-reappearing trick.
I checked my watch to realise it was well after 6 and I needed to get home. As if he'd read my mind he spoke once more, "Time to go?" He asked quietly. I nodded sadly. "I wish I could stay longer but my parents will be starting to worry. Don't worry though, I'll come back tomorrow! And I'll bring speakers, so we can listen to some more music!" He seemed satisfied with that, shrugging his shoulders. "Earlier tomorrow, maybe?" I nodded enthusiastically and rose from the floor. Bill did the same and I put my arms around him, as a ways of goodbye. He waved and disappeared, as I walked out of the old but not so empty house, a tune in my head and a smile on my face.
