Chapter 7

I ran out of my room with Lucy behind me I think I knocked a girl over I heard a girly scream

We made our way down to the fields the two teams waiting impatiently me and Lucy ran onto the field lets play I shouted

"Get off the Felid Lucy" I heard a teacher say

"No!" I shouted

"She's playing no matter what you say!"

"No she's not playing"

"But she is now!"

I saw that the teacher had walked away

Good I thought to myself

We got into our positions my heart racing a million miles a large lump in my throat it hurt

The coach asked if we wanted the kick off or receive I said receive for a better chance at scoring

I felt the ball hit my hands and I was running up the sideline weasly blocking me making sure I didn't get hit once weasly was taken out I sprinted as far as I can and once as I saw a player running at me I threw the Ball to Jamie to throw it down the sideline

Once the other team had ran to the otherwise of the Felid it was passed back to me and I ran up the field leaving a space between me and the other players I looked back from the corner of my eye and saw a big muscular guy running towards me he eventually caught up and pulled at my shirt pulling me down I felt my body hit the ground and when I looked up the ball was just over the line I sighed with relief

I saw the guys running towards me cheering and whooping

Jack helped me up and I brushed off some dirt and cheered with them

As it was half time my leg started to ache of pain but I made myself go on

"Good job Miller" said the coach I bowed my head a little towards him

The score was now even 8 to 8 we just needed one more try

As we kicked off I ran to the other team and waited for the team to receive the ball

They were running up the middle but we had them planned out

Jamie toke the player out and he got up limping I looked over at him and he was grinning

I walked over to him

"What's with that face?"

"He told me I was an asshole earlier"

"So you decided to use football to get to him well played"

"Very well played"

Once the player was checked out and was alright we kept playing

It was down to the last minutes and nobody had scored a try this was life or death so I decided to run past them the 'the touchdown' play

We went for it and it worked I was running up the field I was headed straight for the end positive I was gonna make it it that's when it happened

I was hit and I had gotten thrashed into the metal pole marker on the side of the field

My leg had been wrapped around the pole and snapped I felt the bone crack too

I felt a loud scream escape from my vocal cords I screamed so loud it hurt

Tears were welling up in my eyes but I pushed them back trying not to act like a child

The team were surrounding me and so were the first aid officers

"You'll be okay" I heard Wesley

That's when the tears streamed down my face

"No I won't"

"Yes you are"

I was about to speak when he stopped me with his warm lips touching me

"Who did this to you?"

I turned my head and saw a blonde headed guy looking at me it looked like he was smirking too

Wesley pushed through everyone and went up to him

"You better not of done that on purpose!"

He chuckled and scratched the back of his head

"Totally didn't"

I saw Wesley's fist curl up and rise up to his face

Wesley hit him far in the nose sending blood everywhere

"Next time your going to hurt a girl remember what I just did"

I was rushed to hospital and it saw doctors looking at my leg in shock

An hour had passed and they had given me a cast up past my knee

I was in a wheelchair and my leg ached so much

I looked around and saw my mum sitting in a chair next to me

"Oh honey"

"Mum?"

"It's okay"

"No it's not now I can't stay"

"Well hearing how much your friend stood up for you when that guy broke your leg I thought again that maybe you've got some good friends here and you should stay"

"Really?"

"Yes"

"Mum thank you so much I love you so much"

"I love you to honey now get better soon"

"Oh no"

"What?"

"Now I can't play footy"

"I'm sorry"

"Nah it's not your fault"

I saw the doors open and Lucy walked in

"Hey" she had a block of chocolate in her hand

"I would of expected flowers or something"

"Knowing your not a girly girl I got you chocolate instead"

I smiled weakly "thank you"
