Before Statehood: In 1523, Hernán Cortés was the first European to step foot in the area, claiming the land to be a part of Nueva Galicia of New Spain. After Mexico's independence from Spain, the region became a part of the State of Jalisco in 1824. On August 7, 1867, in midst of political turmoil within the country, the District of Tepic separated from Jalisco to become a military district. On December 18, 1884, Tepic arose in status to become a federal territory. After Mexico adopted a new constitution, Tepic and the surrounding area became the State of Nayarit in 1917.

Eye Color: Hazel
Notable Traits: Long, wavy hair. Copper skin tone. Short in height. Typically, she wears a quechquemitl (shawl). In the past, she had a bad habit of smoking on a daily basis.

Personality: Bouncy and Headstrong. Long ago, she was a noisy, little kid who Spain had difficulty in taming. It also doesn't help Jalisco instilled a greater sense of arrogance and stubbornness during her time under his protection. Even though she's a state, she can't seem to get anyone's attention, nor do they care to give her any attention (mainly because they find her too talkative and annoying). Her only hope to gain their respect is to become popular, so she's always trying really hard to attract tourists; she won't stop until she's noticed.
