Before Statehood: Since making contact with Europeans in 1502, the region had since been associated with Yucatán. In the 1840s, the Caste War of Yucatán prompted the rise of the indigenous Maya nation of Chan Santa Cruz in 1849. While the Maya nation of Chan Santa Cruz wasn't recognized by Mexico and later put down, it did prompt the region's separation from Yucatán on November 24, 1902. However, the region would continue to be reunited and separated with Yucatán since 1915. And then in 1974, the territory was granted statehood, becoming Mexico's youngest state.
Statehood: October 8, 1974 (30th)
Hair Color: Cocoa Brown
Eye Color: Jade Green
Notable Traits: Side ponytail and a curl along the right side of her head. Almond brown skin. Incredibly short in height. Petite body type. She has a white-nosed coati as a companion.
Favorite Foods/Drinks: Chocolomo (Mexican venison stew), Dulce de Coco (aka 'Coconut Candy'), Kibis (meat dish), Salbutes (type of tortilla), Tikin Xic (fish dish)
Favorites: Bird Watching, Coral Reefs, Manatees, Nature Parks, Scuba Diving
Personality: Naive and Playful. Her life has been full of sunshine, rainbows, and hurricanes since her statehood. She may be the youngest among Mexico's states, however, she's quickly developing and becoming popular. Surprisingly, no one has dared to corrupt her soul; even the states with drug problems are keen to behave whenever they're around her. On a side note, there's another personification that existed before her, however, she has yet been told who this person was.
