Katie: You wanna have a sleepover tonight?

Tyler: Sure what time should I come over?

Katie: 7:00. The guys are usually out doing their own things before they come home.

Tyler: Awesome

*At 7:00 he arrives at Apartment 2J*

Katie: Kendall and Logan are on dates. James is at the gym and Carlos is in the game room. We have the whole place to ourselves

Tyler: Where's your mom?

Katie: Spa and nail appointment

Tyler: Awesome. She trusts us both to be alone for a hours in the apartment?

Katie: She has to. It's the only to prove to her that we can be responsible and take care of ourselves without having to be supervised all the time

Tyler: You're right. We can do this

Katie: Yeah we can *High fives him* I'm trying to get her in a good mood to convince her to let me have a pet. I'm not giving up on that

Tyler: What more can you do?

Katie: I don't know. I've tried everything. I'm running out of ideas

Tyler: You're the smartest girl I know. You'll think of something brilliant

Katie: Thanks Tyler *They pop popcorn, watch movies, play video games and have a nerf gun fight. And clean everything up to look neat and tidy so when everyone returns they're impressed by their maturity*

*In her room they've built a fort out of pillows and blankets and change into their pajamas*

*By the time the boys and Ms. Knight return the young friends are asleep in their sleeping bags*

*Saturday morning*

*They wake up and go to the living room*

Ms. Knight: Well done you two. You managed to keep the entire apartment nice and clean. I'm proud of you

Katie: Thanks mom. Would you say we're mature and responsible?

Ms. Knight: Yes I would

Katie: Great cuz you what else takes maturity and responsibility?

Kendall: Oh no here it comes. Ow! *She stomped on his foot and glared at him*

*clears throat* Katie: As I was saying. I know another great task that involves those traits

Ms. Knight: Oh I see what's going on here. You're trying to negotiate with me to get you a pet. Nice try but it's not happening

Katie: Why not? I proved to you that I can do it. Tyler and I both did. We were responsible by cleaning up behind ourselves last night. We kept our phones near us in case we had an emergency. We even stayed in the apartment all night and kept the door locked. That should be more than enough proof to convince that this family deserves a pet. Please mom. Please

Ms. Knight: Katherine Knight that is enough. End of discussion. As long as you live under this roof you will not own a pet. Understood?

Katie:(sighs) Yes ma'am. Come on Tyler. Let's get out of here for a while *They go to her room, get dressed and leave the apartment*
