Katie: I think you should adopt a border collie. They're really smart. They can be trained to do a lot of tricks

Tyler: Aren't they farm dogs? Like to herd sheep and cows?

Katie: Well yeah some do live on farms and do what they were bred to do but some can live in the city if raised properly and given a lot of exercise

Tyler: I think I can do that. I like being outside

Katie: Awesome then it's decided. I wonder if they are any border collies even here. I don't think that kind of breed is popular in animal shelters. But we can ask just to be sure we didn't over look one

*An employee walks in with some water buckets to refill the bowls and goes over to sink* Hello there kids. Need help?

Katie: Do you have any border collies here?

Employee: Yes we sure do. A few months ago a border collie came in rescued from the side of the road and was pregnant. As soon as she was put in a kennel she gave birth to a healthy litter of 8 puppies. She had 4 boys and 4 girls. Two males and two females are left and they're so energetic and so cute. You wanna see them?

Tyler: We sure do?

Employee: Ok *Gives the buckets to a volunteer and gives them instructions before showing the two friends where the puppies are* We named their mom Polly. She's very friendly.

Katie: Oh my gosh they're adorable *Sits on the floor and is tackled by the puppies* They like me *Laughs uncontrollably*

Tyler: I don't know if I should get a boy or girl. What do you think Katie?

Katie: Well it depends on what you're looking for. If you get a boy he'll be like really protective and loyal and if you get a girl she might be really sweet and compassionate

Tyler: Those are really good points but I still don't know what to pick. This is so hard

Katie: The puppy might pick you instead. Just see which one likes you the best. I'll play with their mom

Tyler: Ok *The puppies run up to him and he just laughs at them trying to fight for his attention by climbing on top of each other*
You guys aren't making this easy at all *Rubs their heads*
