Steve- "I don't know Lissy"

Lissy- "Why not"?

Steve- "Catherine hasn't called it texted me since she left"

Lissy- "Why dont you text her or call her"?

Dad- "It itsnt that easy Lissy"

Lissy- "So are you not going to date her ever again"?

Dad- "I dont know yet"

Lissy- "Oh" Was all I said

Dad- "Do you want me to date again"?

(No Response)

Dad- "Lissy"?

Lissy- I try to change the subject "Can we go"?

Dad- "Lissy"

Lissy- "Please"?

Dad- "Yes we can"

Lissy- I get up and walk towards the direction of the truck. To be honest I didnt want to answer the question.

-Car Ride-

Dad- I glance over and see Lissy staring out of the window. "What are you thinking"?

Lissy- "Nothing"

Dad- "You okay"?

Lissy- "Yeah I am. Why"?

Dad- "Just asking by the way what would you say if I told you that I'm dating someone"?

Lissy- "What! Why"? I asked getting nervous

Dad- "Since I'm not going to see Catherine anymore. I don't see the point waiting around"

Lissy- "Come on Dad. Give Catherine another chance. I don't want you to date anyone else besides her"

Dad- "How come"? I asked as I parked the truck in front of our house

Lissy- "I mean....." I just realized what he had done. "That's mean"

Dad- "Im sorry but you wouldn't talk to me about it"

Lissy- "Was the part you said about dating someone, was that a joke"?

Dad- "As of right now it is, but what if I did date again"?

Lissy- "I don't want you to really date anyone"

Dad- "Why not"?

Lissy- "I mean I do want you to but at the same time I don't"

Dad- "Why"?

Lissy- "I don't want what happened happen again"

Dad- "Oh I see. Lissy I can promise you that it won't happen again. I will check the facts first before punishing you"

Lissy- "But still Dad, you should've trusted me. I mean I am your daughter, she was a girlfriend"

Dad- "And I did apologize about that didn't i"?

Lissy- "Yes"

Dad- "And didnt I make a promise you to"?

Lissy- "Yes"

Dad- "Lissy I won't date anyone woman until she meets you, you like her, she likes you and she treats you well. You are my world, I won't let anyone hurt you or our relationship"

Lissy- "Promise"?

Dad- "Yes i promise"

Lissy- "Good. Can we go watch a movie or a tv show"?

Dad- "Sure, why not"

Lissy- "Sweet"

Dad- "First get ready for bed then we can watch something"

Lissy- "Fine"

-About 15 minutes later-

Dad- "What do you want to watch? Movie or tv show"? I asked Lissy as she came down the stairs

Lissy- "Ummmmm......movie"

Dad- "What movie"?

Lissy- "Can we watch Avengers Infinity War"?

Dad- "Sure" I said as I found it on Netflix and clicked on it.

Lissy- I sat down by him and snuggled against him

-Halfway through the movie-

Dad- I look down and see Lissy asleep on my lap. I smile and I enjoy this moment knowing that it can end in a instant. I turn off the movie and gently pick her up and carry her to her room and place her on her bed. I gently kiss her head and say "Love you sweetie"
