Do you believe in soulmates? If yes, what's your reasoning behind it?

Cyen's POV

Before the dinner evening

It was noon and I was getting some work done. Reading through the documents in front of me, I was trying my best to concentrate. The thought of having to get married to this little bratty girl has been nagging me since Vanessa came and talked to me.

I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard a knock on my door. "Come in," I said as I put my pen down on the table. The door opened and Madisson came in. "Sir, your father called to let you know that you are all going over at the Lennox house for dinner," she said as she stood in front of my desk.

"The Lennox? For what," I whispered to myself. "If that's all Madisson you can leave," I said as I grabbed my phone. Madisson nodded and left my office.

After a few rings, my father finally picked up. "Dad why do I have to come for dinner at the Lennox," I asked as soon as he picked up. "Cyen it's nice to hear from you. Anyways you have to be there tonight. You have to meet the soon-to-be Mrs Cyen Niarchos," dad said. I couldn't help but sigh.

"I didn't know that the Lennox had a daughter. How is it that I haven't heard of her before," I said as I was truly confused. "Well Blair does not really like to be in the public's eye. Besides, you will be meeting her family tonight and I expect your final answer to my proposal after the dinner. If you really don't like her then the choice is yours," he said. "Is it really," I thought to myself. I sighed as I listened to him.

"Yes dad," I said. "Okay then son see you at the house. Don't be late," dad said before hanging up. "So her name is Blair Lennox," I said to myself as I tapped the marble desk with my fingers.

"Jack Black speaking," I heard after two rings. "Black, I need you to get me everything you can about Blair Lennox," I said. "I'll be right on it, boss," he said and I hung up. Let's see if she has anything to hide.

Arriving at the Lennox house

We walked up to the door and was greeted by the butler. "Right this way, please," he said as he led us to the living room. Just as I walked behind my parents, I saw this beautiful woman standing there with a smile. She must be the bratty woman who thinks that I will be marrying.

Her long silky brown hair hanging loose cascaded down to her waist. Looking up, I met her eyes, glossy and sparkling like jewels. I felt like I was getting lost in those blue orbs as I kept staring into them.

I soon came out of my reverie when I heard my father speak. A few minutes later, my mom and Mrs Lennox went to sit and talk while my dad and Mr Lennox went to the bar so I decided to follow them and have a drink.

"Would you have some whiskey, Cyen," Mr Lennox asked me as I took a seat next to my dad. "I would love to, Mr Lennox," I said as he started pouring us whiskey. "Please Cyen, call me Blayze," he said and then we started talking about business related things.

Looking back, I saw my brothers having a rather lively conversation with Blair and they were all laughing. She already won over my younger brothers. "Son why don't you go and talk to Blair for a bit," dad said and I nodded. I heard her laughter and it was certainly something pleasing to my ears.

Walking up to them, she had her back to me. "Hey brother, couldn't you stay with us instead of going with dad," Diem said as Blair turned to see me. She quickly blinked a couple of times and moved to the side. Wait was she checking me out?

"Forget it Diem. Why don't you guys go and talk to dad and Blayze for a while," I said in a monotonous voice. Diem and Giovanni made their way to the bar while Blair was staring at the ground. "So you are the infamous Blair Lennox," I said as she looked up at me. Oh, those blue eyes get me everytime.

"Yes, it's nice to finally meet you, Mr Niarchos," she said. Could her voice be any more melodious? I was just staring at her as I sipped on my whiskey. "Ms Lennox, I need you to tell your parents and my parents that you can't marry me," I blunted out.

"Oh well Mr Niarchos, unfortunately that is not an option for me. My hands are tied but I did find a way out of this situation," she said as she grabbed a glass of wine. Situation? I thought she was the one who convinced my dad for the marriage. I mean that is what Vanessa said. "Okay go on," I said.

"The arranged marriage is supposed to last at least two years right. That means once the two years are over, we can have a divorce. Plus no one mentioned that we have to stay in the same house," she said as she drank her wine. She is very smart.

"Good observation Ms Lennox. So you agree to have a divorce when the two years are over," I said. She frowned as she looked at me. "Why would you think otherwise? Anyways please call me Blair," she said. What? She even agreed to the divorce. What is she getting out of this? I really thought that she would fight this a little more.

"I thought- Never mind, but still you will have to stay at my house because the staff at my house surely would tell my parents if you don't stay with me after the marriage," I said. "Also, there shouldn't be any scandal after the wedding or else that would jeopardize my chances of getting the empire," I said and she nodded.

"No need to worry about me. I've always been a wallflower. Let's just make sure you don't cause any more trouble. 'Casanova Cyen Niarchos finally cheats' is the last headline I would want to see," she said as she glared at me. She must be thinking that she looks so scary when she glares at me but it lowkey turns me on.

"Oh Blair a man has his needs. If you are ready to take care of it then I am sure that I wouldn't need to search elsewhere," I said as I smirked. "I'm sure you can take care of your needs on your own," she said as she gave me the death glare.

I chuckled at her reaction making her roll her eyes. She then turned and started walking towards our moms. I couldn't help but start at her assets as she walked away. I am surprisingly looking forward to getting married to this feisty woman.

The only thing that confuses me is that I thought that she was the reason that I was stuck in this arranged marriage.
