CHAPTER 27: WOLVES

JENNIE'S POV
It's been a couple of days since Taehyung oppa and I saw each other. Even though he's away and touring I don't feel too sad because we've been keeping in touch. He texts me everyday and I always text him back as soon as I can. He told me that he was going to give me some time, but he decided to change his mind. He told me that he can't stay away because for some reason Mino oppa got his number and started texting him about his "competitions". This obviously made Taehyung oppa paranoid. He told me that it's too dangerous to leave me alone because he's competing with a lot of idols that are in Korea and they can easily see me and talk to me in person. While he can't.

I'm not going to lie, his jealousy and over-protectiveness does make me like him more. He's always asking me if anybody contacted me today because he thinks I get asked out on a date by other guys all the time. I reassured him that that's not the case at all. I told him not a lot of people approach me mainly because of my image. People think I'm probably catty because of my cat eyes, and they think I'm mean because of the attitude I show in music videos.

As I was thinking about Taehyung oppa I realized that our van has arrived at the YG building. The girls and I are all gearing up for our solos and since I'm also helping Mino oppa with his album we've been in the building a lot. It's really nice because iKon is also focused on their album and we see each other more often so we all hang out a lot now. When we're with them we all don't feel so lonely and they're not afraid to go up to us and just hang out with us. To others it seems like we're timid towards each other, but we're really not. It's just our image I guess.

"Jennie-ah!"

I turned around and saw Bobby oppa.

"Oppa, what's up?"

"Mino told me something Very interesting the other day," Bobby oppa said with a smirk.

I knew Mino oppa wouldn't be able to keep his mouth shut! That traitor! I'm definitely telling Irene unnie about his little crush on her.

"Oppa, I don't know what you're talking about," I said to Bobby oppa.

"I guess that's fine. You don't have to tell me anything. I will just be V-ery disappointed in you because I had to hear it from someone else."

UGH! That stupid Mino! He totally told Bobby oppa!

"I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that, and now's not the time to gossip oppa! We're in the building and don't you have practice or something. SHOO! Go away!" I push him towards the studio they've been using for the past few weeks now.

"Fine. I won't bother you.... today. But tomorrow I will."

Bobby oppa went inside the studio and I started to look for Mino oppa since right now it's Rose that's practicing her solo song.

Speak of the devil. I spy Mino oppa at the cafeteria. That brat.

"Yah! Song Mino!" I yell at him in a soft but fierce voice.

"Yah! It's Mino oppa. Be nice."

"You told Bobby oppa! Why!?"

He started laughing and said, "Dude, Bobby started to notice something weird about you. He was nagging me and I ended up just telling him. I wouldn't just tell anybody. He's one of your close friends too, and he deserves to know. He was being annoying about it with me too. So I just had to shut him up with the truth. But to be honest with you I didn't give him much details. I just told him that their might be something going on with you and ... what's his face."

"Fine. You're right. I should've just said something to him, but you're still in trouble!"

"What? Why? I was just doing you a favor!"

"I don't care. I'm telling Irene unnie your secret."

This definitely got his attention. He grabbed my arm and said, "yah! What are you talking about?"

Mino oppa started to drag me to the private area of the cafeteria.

"Oppa, are you afraid someone's going to hear us? Afraid that people are going to find out about your little crush on Irene unnie?" I smirk at him.

"Jennie, I know you're close to her. But you really don't need to tell her anything. Please."

"Why not? I think you guys would actually look cute together."

Mino oppa sighed and said, "Because I already know how she feels."

Whoah. I haven't seen Mino oppa this defeated looking before. What the heck happened and what's he talking about?

"What do you mean by that?"

"It's nothing. I'll tell you another time. By the way, Tae texted me last night. He told me to tell you to make sure you stay away from other guys."

"Ha ha. Sure he did, and don't change the subject."

"No, for real. He really did text me that. Look," Mino oppa pulls his phone out and I see he has a message thread with "V".

I guess Mino oppa really wasn't lying. Tae oppa really did text that to him. How rude of him! I don't go up to guys at all!

"He's just being over protective you know. He knows guys are the ones who would like to really go up to you and ask you out on a date. He's been texting me a lot lately and asking about how you're doing."

"Why would he text you when he already texts me everyday. It's not like I don't tell him how my day goes."

"It's not the same Jennie. Of course you'll tell him things from your perspective, but you don't see things from another person's perspective. Like me. Remember the other day when we were in the cafeteria and there were some trainees there, and you forgot to grab a fork? All of a sudden one of the male trainees went up to you and handed you a fork."

"Well yea. He was being nice."

"No Jennie. He wasn't being nice. He was trying to make himself known."

"Yea right. How would you even know that?"

"Because I'm a guy. I know how guys are and I know that look that he gave you when he handed you the fork. He likes you."

"You're being ridiculous. Plus, even if he did like me it's not like anything can happen. Nothing can happen, and I don't even remember that guy."

"Well these are things that Taehyung likes to know that you don't tell him. He knows you're naive so he has to go to me and ask me questions."

"I know you guys are like friends now, but don't forget... I'm YOUR best friend."

"Arasso arasso. Just make sure to tell your man today that I'm always here to protect you from the wolves."

I rolled my eyes at Mino oppa and walked away to find the girls.

I know Taehyung oppa means well, and to be honest I do like the fact that he's friends with Mino oppa now. Although, I'm still not sure how I feel about Mino oppa basically being his spy.
