Sitting beside Sirius as i comforted him seemed to be a harder job than I particularly expected. His cries and weeps echoing through the home which him Remus, Mel and Marlene shared. Well Marlene used to share. I held back tears as I was sat beside him, not wanting any to fall as they had fallen previously the night before.

Last night we received the news that Marlene had died along with her whole family. From a group of death eaters targeting them and killing them off one by one until none of them remained.

Sirius was obviously most hurt when receiving this news. His fiancé. Now, dead.

He looked him from his hands wiping the tears off his now pink cheeks, "I'm going- i'm gonna go outside i'm going to need a minute."

I nodded watching as he stood up, he smiled weakly then pushed himself out of the door and outside. James was currently with Remus and Lily and they helped her. Lily had also taken the news quite to heart, with Marlene being her dorm mate throughout the years at hogwarts. Being beside her since the first days as a witch.

Melanie entered their dining room which i was sat in and sighed deeply as she pulled out a chair allowing for herself to just fall into it. Her eyes were pink and puffy aswell. There was no fault that anyone was going to be truly happy for awhile after this.

Forcing a smile towards her i reached out grabbing Mels had softly and she grabbed it in return, "I just- out of everyone. I can't believe she was first. Marlene was such a kind, a kind girl." She mumbled.

"I didn't even become close to her till the last year or so, but it just pains me. To see everyone like this." I replied softly.

The day of the McKinnons family funeral was anything but splendid. Rows among rows of witches and wizards sat in black as we heard people express their last goodbyes.

Lily was one for the firsts up. Pulling out the parchment from her pocket she began to read out loud, "Marlene McKinnon. Was more than just a witch to me, more than simply a stranger. Marlene was apart of something, someone who just makes me as a person. Marlene had a kind soul to welcome me with such great welcoming arms in first year. Ever since then being such a significant roll in my life. She was and she is my bestfriend and i wish nothing but a easy rest for her and her family now and forever more. I love you Marls."

Majority of the eulogies seemed like a blur but my heart pained when i saw Sirius stand up. He was shaking like crazy, like no one had ever seen before and smiled weakly towards us sniffing softly.

"Marlene, was a character i'm gonna tell you that. She was so much more than just the beautiful which was shown on the outside. She was kind, generous and overall incredibly loving. She loved with such passion it was quite imaginable. Especially like to someone like me, who hadn't faced much love until i met anyone at hogwarts."

He paused blowing his nose quickly before returning to the partchment in hand, "She died my fiancé, my love of life. Now and forever and i'm forever sorry, we didn't get to elope sooner. I wish i agreed when you said you wanted a summer wedding." He choked, "But my dear, my l'amour. I'll love you now, and forever more and one day when i join you. We can get married as we are and have been once destined to be."

My heart dropped at the last sentence and i could feel the uneasy feeling that Sirius had. As each McKinnons grave got lifted down under the ground i could just feel pain fill me deeply. She was now gone, and it was because of death eaters.

James had already began to walk away with Sirius in hand, James mumbling to him as he quietly cried in pain.

I took Remus's hand and began to drag him away to. "It will be okay Rem." I mumbled to him.

He shook his head lightly, "It won't be Y/N, the war is starting and this was their second attack. It will all go down hill from now."
