IT'S BEEN EXACTLY seventy three hours, twenty two minutes and forty six seconds since I last spoke to Chase.

Forty seven....forty eight...

We left the day after the wedding, thankfully, but it was an incredibly tense plane ride back. I was so fucking pissed at him but at the same time I wanted nothing more than to hug him, to kiss him and to be held by him. My subconscious a contradicting bitch.

When the wheels of the plane touched down in Madison and we all found our way back out to our cars, I swapped seats with Vera. I had caught a ride with Chase to the airport, with Levi sitting in the back. But there was no way in hell I'd ride back to Caldwell because there's no doubt I would've broken down in the passenger seat beside him. Instead, I had jumped in the back seat of Noah's Jeep without another word or a second glance in Chase's direction.

Even though we sleep only a couple feet apart I haven't said single word to him and neither has he. I'm either asleep when he enters the dorm room or he's asleep when I come back from late night swim trainings. I've been swimming more and more, waking up at the fucking crack of dawn to swim just so I'm not in the dorm when he wakes up.

I hate this. I miss him so damn much.

I miss his jokes, his dark humour and his perfectly timed sarcasm. I miss the way he would make me laugh at 4am when we were both well aware I had training in two hours. I miss when we would study and we would try to distract the other as much possible. I miss the movie marathons, the pranks, the late night conversations. Shit, I miss kissing him.

I've seen him with Lea a couple of times. I try not to think to deeply into it but I can't help but replay what he said on the night of the wedding. I've heard from Noah and Levi that he tries his best to ignore her. I'm relieved but I still worry.

I don't know why I didn't expect that though. Lea uses every fucking second of the day to try and get her talon-like claws back into Chase.

Classes had just ended for the day and I had met everyone—except Chase—in the library. I was basically falling asleep in my chair as I laid back, my feet resting on Levi's lap. Vera was tapping away at her phone, the large smile on her face an indication that she was texting Sam. Penn and Noah were being their adorable selves which just left me and Levi to entertain ourselves.

I sigh heavily swinging my legs off Levi's lap and stand up.

"All this love is suffocating." I joke with a cheeky grin as the targeted three-person audience glare up at me, "I'm going to get some snacks, anyone wants some?"

Noah raises his arm in the air, "Gummy bears please!"

"I'll take plain potato chips please." Levi orders as I nod and pat the top of his curly head. With the coins in hand, I spin on my heels and stalk out of the library. The vending machine was directly by the door so I didn't have to walk far.
