The Race Begins: A Hero is made!

                "Hey Idate, the ocean is the other way, you have to turn around!" Naruto yelled, "You can forget about it there's no way I'm turning around!" Idate says. We once again chase him into the forest and were jumping tree to tree, "We'll catch up to him pretty soon" Naruto said, "But it's to late now he won't be able to win this far away from the shore!" Sakura stated, "He might have planned to come this way from the beginning" Sasuke says making Naruto look at him confused. I looked behind me. Is someone watching us? Naruto jumped down from the tree branch he was jumping on and landing next to Idate and ran next to him as Sakura, Sasuke and I continued above ground. "Finally caught up to ya, so what gives why the heck did you come this way?" "Shut up it's none of you're business anyway kid" Idate yells. "What's with the attitude pal" Naruto retorts. "I said shut up!" "Where are you guys going!?" I yell as the two run towards a clift. "Watch out!" Sakura yells, "I don't thick they noticed it yet" Sasuke said. Naruto and Idate continued running whiles we were still in the trees watching. "This is genjutsu" Sakura stated. Just then Idate stopped and looked around. He noticed, whew. He then continued running dumbfounding me. "Hey, don't go that way!" I warned. Naruto stopped after hearing my voice and looked around confused. Quickly we jumped down next to Naruto releasing the genjutsu he was in. After explaining to him what happened we then saw Idate run closer and closer to the edge of the clift.  We had tied a rope around Naruto's feet and chased after Idate as he ran straight to the end of the cliff and fell. Quickly Naruto jumped off the cliff and caught him as Sasuke, Sakura and I held onto the rope. "Man that was a close one" Sakura said, "Somebody set off one genjutsu on top of another and that's not very easy to pull off" Sasuke stated as we pulled the rope up. Naruto and Idate started arguing soon after. "You idiot, if you had just stopped for two seconds we wouldn't had been in this mess!" Naruto said to Idate, "What did you say!?" "Hey knock it off, stop! AHH, no all of my ninja tools!" An irk mark appeared on my head from the fight going on below us. That's it. The water in my mini gourd poured out onto the rope and took the form of hands that yanked the rope throwing Naruto and Idate in the air. "AAAAHHHHHHH!" I let them land on a water like cushion and they laid there exhausted from what just happened.
                "Look I didn't need you're help okay" Idate said getting up, "You didn't need it?!" I say in disbelief stopping myself from throwing him back off the clift. "Hey listen you fat head! How about a little thanks for saving you're life!" Naruto shouted getting up. "You only saved me because you're bound to by duty, there's no need for me to thank you" "What did you say!" "Stop it Naruto...he's absolutely right, but look, if you don't want to wind up dead then I suggest you stick close to us" Sasuke says as Idate turned and walked away. "Hey where are you going anyway you past the port" Naruto said, "What about it, I'm heading north from here" "You are, so does that mean it's faster that way?"Sakura questions. "That's right" 
                We were running north like planned from the beginning by Idate. "Hey I can smell salt" Naruto said, "It's the ocean!" Sakura said. Idate then borrowed a boat and we started to sail in the ocean, all of us had something to do. I worked on the ropes on one side of the boat, finishing soon after I started. Standing up I went closer to where Sasuke was and leaned onto the side of the boat and look out at the ocean that could seem never ending. Suddenly Naruto brust out into laughter speaking soon after. "Get real that block head could never be a ninja!" I looked in Naruto's direction. "Look who's talking! Last time I checked you were the raining king of stupid!" Sakura yelled at him, "Yeah but I mean come on, I did make it to the finals on the chunin exams" "You really didn't make it to the final round" Idate said to them, "Yeah that's right and if I hadn't been interrupted in the middle of it I would have become a chunin!" "Yeah well who ever you'r proctor was must have been a real push over" Idate said, "Sounds like the chunin the exams lowered it's standers" He added in, "I see so that means you were..." Sakura started off making Idate turn around, "I remember now, Idate Morino" "Morino..oh yeah that's right wasn't he the proctor of the first exam" Sakura said, "Ibiki, he sucks" I say pouting looking back out at sea. "What'd you say! My brother, he's alive?" "Yes" I say. "Well of course he's alive why wouldn't he be!" Naruto said, "So he's still alive!" Idate said as something hit the deck behind me. I turn again to see an arrow logged in the deck behind Idate. "Oh that's great now what!" Naruto said, "It's an ambush" Sasuke said making me look the in the direction I wasn't looking in to see another boat coming our way. Arrows were shot at Sakura, Naruto and Idate but them blocked them as four arrows flew towards Sasuke and I. We jumped out the way and next to Naruto, Sakura and Idate. "Naruto, Amychan and I will fend these guys off, Sakura you keep an eye on Idate" Sasuke said, "Maybe we should all just run" Sakura insisted, "It's to late for that" Just then harpoons were shot and attached to our boat. "Start working on these ropes I'll cover you, let's go Amychan" Sasuke says making me nod. "Yeah you got it" Naruto started to work on the ropes and I started to make the waves push the other boat back. "Come on hand it over already!" "Forget it you idiot, this is more precious to me than my own life" "Get over yourself we don't have time for this!"  "Get away from me you idiot!" Sasuke threw one of his kunai towards the two, "Hurry up already you knucklehead!" Sasuke yelled. Naruto grabbed the kunai and cut the rope making the boat sail away from us. Sakura screamed, I looked to see some ninja appearing from the floor and pole of the boat, "Don't worry Sakura it's just a bunch of clones, only the real one can actually attack us!" Naruto said. I lifted up my headband revealing my Mongockr eye and I looked at the clones. Only one of them aren't shadow clones, "Sakura, Naruto, watch out one of them isn't a shadow clone, be careful!" Sasuke yelled, "Just tell us were!" Sakura said, "You better stay close to my side Idate" she added on, "No way, why would I want any help from a bunch of ninja" He said, "Look around you pal begers can't be chooser's!" Naruto said, "Naruto behind you!" Sasuke and I shouted. He turned around only to get tackled to the ground, "Naruto!" Sakura said. Naruto turned into a cloud of smoke, the enemy ninja looked up to see multi-pal Naruto's coming to punch him and he jumped off the boat, "Great the real one got away" Naruto said, "Nice work Naruto" Sakura said. Naruto went to attack the clones. The clones quickly surrounded and attacked us as we fought them off. So  them changed to water clones huh. "Sasuke they changed into water clones!" Naruto said, "I know!" Sasuke said attacking the clones. My gourd oped up and swept half of the clones into the ocean but more came, just then then it started raining.  Huh? What is this? Oil?  "Sasuke don't!" Sakura shouted. I looked down to see oil and not water. So that's their plan. "Fire attack!" Sasuke said as a fiery arrow hit the boat and the boat caught on fire quickly. "What are we going to do Sasuke the fire's put of control!" Sakura yelled. "You now I'm right here right!?" I shouted as I fought off another clone that appeared behind us. "Were just doing to have to swim to the port Modoroki Island" Sasuke said as I cleared a pathway for Sakura and Idate to come over to us, "Idate do you know how to swim?" Sakura asked. I attempted to clear out the rest of the fire but each time I did more appeared. "Oh..of course" "Okay you go first I'll cover you, with all this smoke everywhere we'll have no problem slipping away without being seen.....Idate" "You can forget about it, what do you I'm stupid? You four probably just want to use me as a decoy!" Idate said, "What are you talking about!?" I yell, "You want them to focus on me while's you guys get the heck out of here!" "Stop talking nonsense!" Naruto said "I said forget about it, I don't trust ninja!" "Get out of here already, we don't need you getting in our way!" Sasuke said. I threw a kunai at a clone behind Sasuke, "Hurry up and go!" Naruto said, "There's no way we'd us you as a decoy!" Sakura added on, "No I won't..." Sakura turned around and started to pull on the pole of the boat, "CHA, come on!" She lifted it up and turned to Idate, "Get down!" He ducked an she swung it hitting three water clones trying to get on the boat, "You got to trust me Idate, I promise we'll protect you" Sakura said holding the pole with ease then ran towards Idate, "Watch out!" She groan in pain, "Sakura!" Naruto and I yelled. Idate finally jumped off the boat and when he did we jumped the out the other side and swam.
               Hey Sakura how's you're wound is it okay?" Naruto asked as we all swam to shore. "I'm fine that's the least of our worries, just keep going" she said, "The rain village ninja you mean" Sasuke said stopping making the rest of us stop, "Ha, are you kidding, those wimps we can handle them" Naruto said "It would be us that's their thinking of, what if their heading towards Idate at this very moment"Sakura said, "Whoa he might be in danger" Naruto said, "Of course he's in danger that's what I'm saying" Sakura said, just then Naruto started to struggle to stay afloat then he went under water, "Knock it off Naruto this is no time to be playing around" Sakura said, "I don't think he is Sakura" I say as I dived underwater to see the ninja pulling Naruto to the bottom of the ocean. Oh no you don't. I swam after them quickly when water clones appeared and tried to pull us under as well. So that's how it's going to be. I did a hand sign. Water clone jutsu. My water clones appeared and helped out Sasuke and Sakura and I when a whirl pool formed around everyone and destroyed the rest of the water clones. Quickly, I swam up to the surface soon being joined by everyone else. "I got you Sakura hang in there!" Naruto said, I turned to see Naruto running on top of the water. I didn't know we could have done that. I ran after Naruto but stopped when I noticed Sasuke wasn't anywhere to be seen. I turned to see him still in the water looking out at Naruto. "Hey Sasuke come on!" I say holding my hand out to him. "No thanks, I got it" Sasuke says. "Suit yourself" I say turning around. I chase after Naruto again to see him trip over a rock and fly to shore. "You okay Naruto?" I asked walking up to him. "Yeah...hey Sakura, come on wake up!" Naruto said worriedly shaking her. He went to do CPR on her when she screamed and socked him in the face, "What are you crazy, you perv!" she shouted. I sighed and shook my head. "Hey guys, Idate" I said, "Oh right" she said, Sasuke and Sakura walked off. Of course their going to leave him. I help Naruto up and we both followed the two. After some time it started raining as we soon found Idate and another person, "Idate!" Naruto yelled as we ran in their direction only to see him lying on the ground, "Are you in charge of those rain ninja" Naruto said more than asked as Sakura went to check to see Idate's condition. "Apparently they weren't quite up to the job the contest of genin the leaf village genin have it stronger...but genin no matter how strong are no match for me" the person says. "Well let's find out!" Naruto said as we wen't to fight the guy but he douged. "Up there!" Sasuke said looking up. The guy had a crazy look on his face, a look I normally see Gaara with. He swung his umbrella at us making a huge dust of wind pushed push us down, then he landed on the ground. "Huh, just what I expected no more of a challenge than Idate really" He closed his umbrella, "I'll just give you what I gave him, no use wasting any of my chakra" He threw needle's at us. Getting up I get in front of everyone and form a shield blocking the attack. "I'm done with this!" say as I appeared behind the guy kicking him in the back pushing him to the ground. I activated my Mongockr as I stood over him. "Never underestimate my friends" I say as I threw some shuriken at him but he moved out the way and threw needle's at me but they got deflected. I smirked, "Better luck next time!" I did some hand signs, "Instant water!" A wave of water appeared below my feet and I ran towards the guy with full speed and knocked him a few miles away from us. I looked in the sky to see how far he went then turned to my teammates to help them, "You guys okay?" I asked helping Naruto up. "He is gonna pay" "How's Idate"I say to Sakura as she uses an ointment on him."He'll be fine after some rest" she says.
