Secret Love

Chapter 14

"Kurt, hurry up or we're going to be late!" Finn shouted from the bottom of the stairs. Kurt walked out of his room, dragging his suitcase behind him. He went downstairs and stood next to Finn.

"Have you boys got everything?" Carole said, coming out of the kitchen. Burt and Carole walked over to where the boys were standing.

"Yes mom, now we need to go or we're going to be late." Finn said. Everyone hugged and said their goodbyes. Finn and Kurt walked out of the house, put their suitcases into the trunk and got into the car. They drove to McKinley which was where they were getting the bus. They arrived and got their luggage out of the car and headed to where Mr Shue was standing.

"Oh hey guys, that's everyone here. Go get on the bus." Mr Shue said. Finn and Kurt put their suitcases on the compartment under the bus, and stepped into the coach and took a seat. Finn sat next to Rachel, and Kurt sat next to Mercedes. Once Mr Shue made sure Artie got on okay, he jumped onto the bus, Emma -who was the chaperone- followed closely behind.

"Okay everyone, who's ready for regionals!" Mr Shue shouted. Everyone cheered and clapped.

"North Carolina, here we come!" Me Shue said. The driver started the car, and they were on their way to regionals.

It had been around two and a half hours since they'd started driving. A few people were asleep, some were quietly listening to music or reading, but Kurt and Mercedes hadn't stopped talking to each other.

"How are you and Blaine?" Mercedes asked. Kurt turned to face his best friend.

"Um... were good, why" Kurt said. Mercedes rolled her eyes.

"You know I don't mean that." She said. Kurt sighed and folded his arms.

"I've told you a million times that he's straight. We'll never be a thing, we're just friends." He said. They stopped that conversation, and Mercedes ended up falling asleep a few hours later. The bus stopped and they were finally in North Carolina. Everyone walked out of the bus, got their luggage and walked into the hotel lobby. Will walked off to get the keys for their rooms and Emma stayed with everyone else. Including today, they had 2 days until Regionals, and then they would leave the next day. Will walked back over to the group.

"Okay guys, there are two rooms for you's. One room will be for all the boys, the other for the girls. Kurt, you can go with the girls if you want." Will said. Kurt smiled, Mr Shue knew that Kurt didn't feel comfortable with the boys. Mr Shue showed everyone their room, Kurt and the girls walked into the hotel room and put down their suitcases. They all sat on the bed, gossiping and talking about regionals.

"I'm so excited guys I just can't wait to get on the stage and sing my heart out." Rachel said, jumping up and down. Santana rolled her eyes.

"While we all sway in the background and sing some 'oohs' and 'aahs'." Quinn said. Rachel shot her a look.

"It's not my fault I have the best vocals." She said. The conversation was dropped, mostly because no one was in the mood to argue with Rachel and have her storm out of the room.

The next day was spent practicing their songs for regionals. Making sure they had everything perfect for the day.

Today was the day, regionals. The whole of the New Directions was waiting to perform. Once they were announced, Rachel and Finn walked out and started to sing their duet 'Faithfully'.
