~ Amanda's POV ~

"Heather, please come," I pleaded over the phone. "It's Maria's half-birthday."

"Not a chance," she said lightly. "Why are you even celebrating that anyway? That's not a real thing."

"My daughter—who by the way I never thought I'd have—is halfway to being a year old, so excuse me if I want to celebrate that," I said smugly over the phone. "And I want her aunt to be there to celebrate with us."

"Is Tommy going to be there?" She asked sternly over the phone, knowing the answer already.

"Yes," I said quietly. "But only because he's Vince's best friend and he's technically Maria's uncle and...Heather please, I miss seeing you."

"I'm just not ready to face him," Heather said softly over the phone.

"It's been over two months, Heather," I pleaded. "You can't just never see him again, you have kids together."

"I know," she said.

"And they're getting older, they miss their mom," I continued. "They don't know where you are."

"Stop making me feel bad," she said, lightly sniffling through the phone. "I'm just trying to decide what's best for all of us at this point."

"Come to the party," I said, pausing to give her a moment. "And we can talk more in person. You don't have to talk to Tommy, I'll talk to him."

"Maybe," she added. "We'll see."

She hung up the phone before I even got a chance to say anything else, which was odd for Heather, considering that she normally loved to talk. I don't think I've ever seen her hang up the phone on me like that, but I understood because of what she was going through.

"Was that Heather?" Vince asked, stepping into the room, holding Maria on his hip as her little face lit up after seeing me.

"Yeah," I said, holding out my arms and walking toward Vince so that I could hold Maria. "Not sure if she's coming."

"We've got plenty of people to celebrate," Vince said, stepping around my back side so that he was facing Maria, with me pressed between the two of them, gently touching his nose to the small tip of hers, Maria giggling wildly in response.

"Are you ready for your party?" I asked her, starting to bounce her up and down on my hip to get her to giggle some more. Of course, she had no idea what I was saying, but I still constantly talked to her anyway. She liked it. I felt like she liked it at least.

"Your mom went a bit...over the top," Vince said in a baby voice to Maria.

"Well, with all this free time on my hands, what else do we do, baby?" I asked, talking in a baby voice too.

About a month ago, when the boys were extremely close to leaving for the tour, Nikki was a no show. Since they can't do the tour without a quarter of the band, Doc postponed the tour until further notice. I can't imagine how much work it was to cancel a tour, with refunding everyone's tickets and sending people who were relying on the work back to their lives. It's sad. Plus the fans must be disappointed, the last tour was cut short as well.

"Who else is coming?" Vince wondered.

"Uh, Melissa and Stephen, they're not coming together," I clarified. "Tommy, Lita,...," I went on, but Vince cut me off.

"Lita's coming?" Vince asked, suddenly panic was laced in his voice.

"So?"

"So she probably knows where Nikki is," Vince said.
