I couldn't help but take in a deep breath of air when she came close to me, helping me with my seatbelt. My heart started to pound, matching the pace of hers. Out of any Angel or human, Annie was the only one that made me feel like this. I didn't know why or how she made me feel like this, but she did. I guess that was the reason that she had been sent to Earth, so she can get away from me and I can carry on my duties as an Archangel. Another reason might be because that her father was "friends" with Lucifer, and they thought that she was going to "conspire" with them for whatever plan they have.

I gritted teeth and shook my head, not wanting to go into those thoughts. I knew that she wouldn't do that, because of the crush that she had on me. However, there was a possibility that. Quickly, I took a deep breath, stopping that thought from reoccurring. I looked at Annie to see that there was a light blush on her face, while she looked out the window on the front side of the car. "Thank you," I said, my voice filled with huskiness. I could feel my pants tighten a little, but it wasn't enough to be noticed. I cleared my throat while she grunted and nodded her head, not even looking my way. I could see her face turn a little sour, probably thinking of something that had to deal with her past.

Stop it, Gabriel, I scold myself. You can't feel like this about her. You have a job to do. I shook my head again, before running a hand through my hair, grimacing as the shirt scratched me a little. I couldn't help but hate the feeling of the clothing that I had been given to wear. Instead of the silk clothing that I was used to, I was in cotton clothing that I could live without. It was itchy and scratchy just as the jeans. It didn't help that the seatbelt was uncomfortable and moved across my skin, which will probably leave a rash.

"How are we going to get out of New York City?" Matthew asked, breaking me from my thoughts. "I mean, we are supposed to stay here and the Angels will know if we had left or not. They usually know these things quickly."

Annie smirked, looking back at him. Her gray eyes had this look of anticipation in them, as if she all ready knew what will happen to us. Her whole body seemed to vibrate with an unknown energy, like she was ready for whatever will happen and to finally get out of New York City. "I need you all to roll down your windows. Gabriel, I have yours. I'll need them down, so I can use the wind and go faster. The reason why is so that we can get past the barrier, blocking us from leaving and others from entering."

"Why does rolling down the windows help out with us getting faster?" Matthew asked but he rolled his window down like she had said. He winced, getting hit in the face by the wind. "Now, I know why." He shook his head, sighing. "But did you have to do it to me?"

Annie nodded her head, raising an eyebrow. "Yes, because you questioned my better judgement, which meant that you didn't trust with what I was going to do." She paused, glanced at me before looking back at him. "You know what I can do and know how fast I can go, using the wind to help me. You, also, know that I have tried multiple... things using my power, which in turn got me good at controlling the wind and making it do what I need it to do. Now, please don't question on what I have or had done. All of it is for the safety of the group. We wouldn't be here, together, if it wasn't."

"Yes, Anne," Matthew said, bowing his head in defeat. He sighed, probably knowing what she was meaning. "I am sorry that I had questioned your judgement. Shall we continue on with our journey for the sword?" He looked at me in dislike before he leaned back in his seat. Matthew stayed silent, waiting for whatever Anne was going to do.

Anne shook her head and sighed, probably feeling annoyed about his behavior. She didn't say anything, while she rolled mine and her window down. After that, she glanced around and saw that all the windows were down, including the two in the back. With a sigh, she pulled the car out into traffic, being careful of the other cars. She glanced up at us and smirked, her body having that feeling of a challenge and such. "Hold on," she said. With that, she pushed the pedal to the metal, swerving in between the cars, making it look like that she had done this before.

I grabbed hold of the handle bar that was high above my seat and gripped the arm rest. My heart started to pound in fear as cars honked at her, because of her fast going. I couldn't help but close my eyes, as the wind started to pick up, making the car go faster than it ought to go. No wonder a lot of people come to Heaven from car accidents, I thought, my whole body tensing. There are drivers like her that shouldn't be driving.
